During the hike on the P16 I came across the blacksmith shop. Unfortunately I disturbed him during his afternoon rest. But the situation was very humorous. That it tastes like nuts bmeans 5 🌟 to me. You definitely have to stop here. It's just great.

First the good things:We were significantly late for dinner there. We reported this over the phone, but it was accepted very calmly, which is not a given. We knew that there was only a small selection of dishes available and there was something for everyone. The food was well prepared and there were no leftovers for anyone. According to the host, the still water served in the house is filtered and treated. I can't verify that, but it was actually extremely tasty. Salads before and ice cream after the meal were also great. Because of the nice weather we were able to eat outside and it was very comfortable. Inside it also looked rustic and clean, but that's something for the cold season. What bothered us: we registered by phone. There were at least 2 conversations about the number of guests and that everything should be paid for by one person, but no reference to the fact that no other form of payment than cash is accepted. We didn't see a cash register and didn't receive a receipt in the required form. The innkeeper praised us for his filtered water and it quickly became clear that terms and pseudoscientific terms were being used here that came from an esoteric corner. Over the course of the evening, statements suggesting proximity to the AFD became more frequent. Both the more esoteric attitude and AFD statements were ultimately intrusive and disturbing. At the end came the surprise that cash was the only option. Tipping also came up briefly. Not nice!

The restaurant is cozy and decorated in detail. It is particularly nice to sit by the fireplace. The food is regional, high quality and fresh. For example, game from the region (some of which we have shot ourselves), sheep's cheese from the local farm and freshly caught trout are offered. The food was very tasty and the owner was friendly and approachable.Absolutely clear recommendation!

Very tasty breakfast buffet and fantastic historical-rustic ambience in a picturesque village and great natural landscape. Seems out of time. Super recommended. Game and fish are also said to be extremely recommendable (hearsay). I will eat here again!

After a wonderful hike, we stopped at the blacksmith shop for coffee and cake.According to the waitress, there was no longer any cake, but they would still make us fresh waffles with red jelly. When we asked if we could sit outside, we were answered somewhat rudely: "Then I have to come out"!Yeah right! There were around four guests in the dining room, no one outside except us. So no trace of stress.A little more friendliness towards his guests would be appropriate here.Next time we will hike back to Sickenberg for coffee and cake.

We went to the restaurant for lunch and coffee. It tasted excellent. The service was also very good. The trout was simply a delight.I will visit this restaurant again soon with a group. Please reserve in advance, the trout will only be fetched fresh from the trout farm that day. The cake is also freshly baked.Off to Eichsfeld, the good is so close.

Very nice restaurant, lovingly furnished and with the option of sitting outside under a large tree in the shade. There is even a disabled toilet. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the rooms, we were only there to drink coffee.

Very nice restaurant, quiet location with a lot of charm,The manageable menu was followed by a very tasty, home-style meal.Surrounded by half-timbered buildings and meadows with an old tree in front of the entrance, you can unwind while eating. We would like to come again.

Unfortunately the guesthouse was closed. therefore no rating of the kitchen or the staff. The house itself looked abandoned, old and uncomfortable.Unfortunately, the boss forgot about us, so we were initially very worried about being able to spend the night there. But with the help of villagers, the contact worked. Unfortunately, the accommodation itself wasn't that clean either, cobwebs everywhere, etc. no feeling of well-being.No recommendation from us
