I have just arrived but I am beyond excited! The room is nice and even has a fridge, which is rare in Europe, and a wonderful bathroom. The views are amazing and there was an advertisement in the elevator to schedule a free massage (so I did and will know more about that tomorrow)!Getting ready for dinner!

Beautifully, expensively renovated castle with the most wonderful view of the Edersee. Dinner was adequate but the upscale restaurant was closed. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable but the pillows were too big and bulky. Would strongly recommend the experience of staying here.

Dining was amazing, we stayed with our dog and found many beaches and walkways. Quiet and splendid, amazing building of the dam, camping and the sunken city. The castle had so much history and also very modern.

Awesome view over the Edersee. Make sure to have so change to feed the parking meter, if you want to park there.

It's a cute spot but staying there felt more like a hotel. The dinner costs were exorbitant.

Beautiful restoration of a beautiful castle. This is not a hotel. It is a restored castle for visiting.

We just visited the castle and did not stay in the hotel. The view was spectacular as the morning haze was burning off. It was a short stay on the grounds but so worth the view and a fun little gondola ride* (*that was the only thing we had to pay for).

We did not visit the Hotel only the castle. Was interesting but was sad that it did not show anything about the life and times of the Royal family that lived there. The part that is open to tourists is the prison section, which is very sad, scary and depressing. The castle itself is an imposing edifice and can be seen from miles around. The roof of the castle is made of slate and the way it is tiled is very interesting.

We did not stay. Just visited the castle and the museum. View of the lake from the castle is worth a visit. You can park at the Burgbhan and take the cable car to go up hill to visit this place and return back by cable car to the parking. Or you can drive with your car and park it in front of the castle. Visit to the dam, go around the lake and do some water activities like boating or ferry ride are some activities that can be done around this location.
