We are on our last night in CP Hochsauerland in Germany. We (me, my husband and my 13 yr old son) have had an absolutely brilliant time here and have been impressed with the site and hospitality we've experienced in Center Parcs and across …

The location and environment are fantastic! But the appartment we stayed in is a bit older and a little bit dirty. I would expect for the price to be a little cleaner. While the apartment is already quite pricey, you'll still have to pay for some other facilities/activities. Of course for some facilities I would expect a payment but other activities for instance table tennis, indoor football aren't for free. I would expect that this is a great activity/facility to meet other family and for the kids to meet other kids. The park is car free. Which means the cars can only park at the apartment temporarily, just for unloading and loading the luggage. I really like that for the kids.

I visited the Center Parcs Park Hochsauerland around a week ago. It was my first visit to a Center Parcs. I must say, I’m not impressed, it was kind of mediocre experience.During the booking process, we got 60€ discount for Last Minute booking, but we had to pay 60€ back again for booking the apartment, which didn’t make sense. There are some positives as well. The apartment was spacious with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms as well. The kitchen was fully equipped. The whole apartment was clean as well. The water park (Aqua Mundo) was spacious and clean with multiple water slides and big water fun area for kids. There are multiple playgrounds on the campus with a very big and nicely organized playground for all age groups on the mountaintop.Everything was very costly from renting a bicycle, buggy or electric cars. Especially he Buffet price was unimaginable.I might be over-exaggerating but Handsoap was missing in both of WCs (nowdays available in Public WCs as well) and salt-pepper (available in every Hotel room or AirBnb)All in all, it was a experience to remember for a long time.

Lovely place, but I'm not overly impressed that everything except swimming comes at an additional price.I'm not sure I'd go back, as once you're done with swimming, costs fly up or you're very limited in regards to what you can do.

3 stars due to the cleaning staff on the POOL being lazy or non existent. I really had a laugh when I noticed this sign (picture ) by the entrance to the changing rooms in the Pool. We really did experience the unique center parcs scent! Of urine!!!!! So, when you enter, yes, you have a small whiff of a pleasant smell for 2 seconds. I stayed for some days in the park and while it was not every day, there was a very pungent smell of urine that could make a bear cry coming from the toilets. The smell then floats and lingers by the kids water playhouse and the red family slide.I saw a bandaid that laid on the same spot for at least two days. I also saw very visible trash on the floor by one of the slides, which was there the next day. The kids playhouse needs to be cleaned, it has algae all-over. It deserves to be power washed. There are also other places where water pools around the handrails, which are full of algae. The floor on the toilets has very, very poor drainage, so we go pee with our feet soaking in other people's urine!! The floor on the toilets should be redone to a flat surface with anti-slip paint. There was a table with the cleaning schedule every hour signed inside the toilets but I don't believe it at all. It was 14:30 when I was there one day and it had two signatures then the next day it was fully signed, which stinks of lazy employees. The day it smelled the absolute worst someone with a round signature reassembling BB was the person responsible that day. I never saw anyone cleaning anything whatsoever. Also, the showers on the women's side were either fully cold or burning with no in between or a way to control the temperature. The positive part is that the waves were bigger than in the trois forêts park and held for a longer time. The waves outside were also fun. The water and air temperatures were nice, unlike other center parcs pools where it was difficult to stay there for long even during the summer. Please train and drill your cleaning team and add ventilation to the toilets, in addition to solving the floor drainage problem. Install a hose inside the toilets so the guests can spray it before using or something.

We stayed at this establishment as a family on a long weekend. Unfortunately, the condition of our room upon arrival did not meet our expectations. The floor was visibly dirty, with hair and sand particles present. The cups and glasses provided were also dusty and dirty, and the balcony area was unclean. We approached the reception desk in the main building and the attendant seated in the rear did not even rise from his chair to speak with us. I requested that he do so because I did not wish to shout. When he arrived at the counter, he informed us that he was not the responsible person and that we should return after 10 a.m. I informed him that we had a small child and wished to go swimming afterwards. He was quite indifferent and merely pointed to a paper on the desk, indicating that we should make a complaint. Upon returning to the room, we encountered the cleaning staff and requested that they clean the room, particularly the floor. The cleaning staff arrived at lunchtime, while we were on our lunch break. They only wiped a small strip with a wet mop from the balcony door through the bathroom and out of the door. Before leaving, the cleaning lady informed us in an unfriendly tone that she was unable to address the sand issue. She advised us to ensure our child does not bring sand into the room, regardless of its source. The room remained in a similar state to before. In all honesty, I wondered if we would have been treated differently if we had a different skin colour. Regardless, we were disappointed and therefore unable to provide a positive rating or recommend the place to anyone. The park is of a high standard and offers a wide range of facilities for children.

My family with a 4 year old and 8 year old stayed for 4 nights at Hoschsauerland. We had a great time! The facilities weren't dirty as others have stated, but some could do with a good big dusting and update. We enjoyed the Aqua Mundo and the huge Activity land climing structure at the top of the hill, what an unexpected treat! The spa was nice and quiet and a nice retreat away from the children. The staff were all friendly. I would recommend this place for families.

We booked 6 months upfront, using a so called ‘Early bookers dicount’. Turned out we paid €450 more than the actual price upon arrival. We called the customer service and visited the hospitality desk; there was absolutely no willingness to compensate us even a bit. For a €50 difference I can understand, but we’re talking about a significant price in my opinion. On top of that, comparing it to the prices of tomatoes that also differ throughout the year, was a very condescending and completely out-of-proportion comparison. Don’t get blinded by their ghost deals. Also upon arrival, we arrived in a cottage that hadn’t been cleaned properly. We had to call maintenance to empty all trash bins from the previous visitors. This is simply not done; also from a hygienic point of view.Food is rather greasy and not the best option for people with a digestive system that is slightly a bit off. Leisure on site is rather limited and the area doesn’t have options out of winter season. Bring your slippers to the pool area as the floor (and water) is full of little waste. In the supermarket we experienced a problem while paying by card, so we were advised to go to the hospitality desk to get some cash there through a card payment. Once there, the answer was simply no. Even when explaining the situation, they told us to go to the city further down the road to withdraw cash.Overall a rather disappointing experience. If you are used to Center Parcs in Belgium, know that you can expect a downgrade in the service standards you might be familiar with. Unfortunately I don’t have anything to mention that exceeded our expectations in a positive way. This review would have been way better if we would have gotten a compensation and thus a more reasonable price instead of the €1250 we paid now for a weekend off-season. Make sure you reach the customer’s standards when you price yourself next level.

We stayed at the resort for three nights (from Saturday to Tuesday). While the cabin was satisfactory, we found the cleanliness to be lacking. We had to clean certain areas ourselves, like the staircase handrails, bedside tables, and bathroom tiles that had toothpaste residue. We opted for an “all-inclusive” package, but were disappointed with the dining options and services provided.• Limited Lunch Options: The available lunch venues were extremely limited. For instance, the Factory Cafe had a very restricted menu, especially for kids, lacking any healthy choices.• Afternoon Tea Inadequacies: The only option for afternoon tea was the daily cake, which was often sold out by 2 PM and not replenished until the next day.• Activity Restrictions: On Fridays and Mondays, many activities included in the package were unavailable, such as archery and the kids’ club, significantly limiting our entertainment options. Moreover, cleanliness standards at the kids’ club area were subpar. Babies were playing on a dirty floor, and visitors often tracked in mud and dirt from outdoor activities, including the farm where animals roamed freely. This unsanitary environment posed a health risk, especially for young children.Additionally, the paid extras like temporary tattoos and hair decorations were unavailable on Monday, despite being included in our all-inclusive package. The Monday dinner buffet was also disappointing in quality and variety. In summary, the resort’s all-inclusive package fell short of expectations due to limited amenities, inadequate food offerings, and cleanliness issues. Considering our experience, I would not recommend this resort for anyone seeking a comprehensive all-inclusive experience.
