This place really exceeded our expectations! The space is lovely and expertly kept, the grounds are so picturesque and well maintained. The rooms were a good size and perfect for a weekend get away stay. Perfect to lay under one of the large trees and read a book of take a bike down to the lake. We also enjoyed the animal feeding at 3:30pm and the geese walk at 6pm. Perfect for families and couples. The food at the restaurant was delicious (namely the pork - no surprises there, the pigs look happy and well groomed). All the animals on the farm are happy! All the staff were super and very accommodating and friendly.I have nothing bad to say about our stay, 10/10 and would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

The place is very very beautiful and the staff are very kind, helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Spatnsnest apartment which felt so dusty, and very old in style, could be cleaner. The washroom needs to be renovated. The breakfast food was good. The best part are the animals being so close by, and the feeding round in the morning

Had a wonderful short holiday here with friends. The kids had a glorious time and there was a lot to keep them entertained. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped although there were a few things that fell apart while we were there that had obviously been damaged prior to our stay and not repaired. The staff are friendly and the farmer that took our kids repeatedly on tractor rides was worth his weight in gold. There were a few things making this not a 5 star experience: it's expensive, and I would expect more for that money. Although the breakfast was good it was very one dimensional and not very well stocked (we often had to wait for basics like bread, however, it was freshly cooked). The BBQ grill evening was absolutely dreadful, extremely expensive, not child friendly at all (only big hunks of meat and three different kinds of cabbage), a big disappointment. Lastly, while the sauna was a lovely addition it was located in what looked like a building site, maybe it wasn't finished? With decent seating and a laid floor for outside not just bare, rumble strewn earth it would be gorgeous. TL:DR very much recommended but skip the BBQ.

Having just spent 2 days at Gut Boltenhof, I can happily recommend a visit here to other travellers. As an Australian, I found the accommodation in this beautiful old restored manor house a great experience. …

Very nice surroundings, very friendly staff but highly unorganized workflow and surprisingly high amount to pay.We were staying for New Year’s Eve and we only received notice about the higher price of the Silvester buffet and brunch (which was eventually nothing different from a normal breakfast) when checking out, receiving a bill of 150€ in extra. After raising our eyebrows we went through the charges and noticed that Gut Boltenhof charged us two times for the Silvester buffet and another 30€ was mistakenly booked to our room. Always check your receipt before you pay!We stayed in Kokon which was a bit smaller and shabbier as on the website, sometimes with no hot water. The restaurant was charming but because of the full house we only had once the chance to have breakfast there. It was full but we had the chance to catch up with our neighbors and had a really delicious espresso. For the rest of our stay breakfasts and dinners were moved out to a revamped barn with a less tasty espresso (different, automatic machine) and a less cozy atmosphere. We had the feeling that they organized many programs for New Years Eve, but somehow they forgot to let us know about them. Anyway, we did not go there to party but to chill and enjoy some good and regional cuisine.Even though it’s catering-style, the food (even the pasta!) was delicious and we enjoyed walking in the surrounding nature a lot.All together we had a pleasant stay, but pimping up a bit the facilities, clearer communication of programmes and prices would be essential.

Boltenhof is an outstanding place for a family event. We celebrated the 90th birthday of our father, grandpa and great grandpa with the entire clan at Gut Boltenhof in various locations like the Gutshaus, Alter Rinderstall and more. I can highly recommend this venue.
