Very creatively furnished, small double room with a small bathroom. Not luxury, but quaint. Close to the center, yet quiet. Landlord very helpful. 1-2 nights there and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Or longer and explore Dresden.

Hygiene not present, excrement from the previous person in the toilet. Landlord rude after pointing this out. You shouldn't forget it's not a 5-star hotel and it's value for money, but that has nothing to do with it for me.And you would exaggerate and it wouldn't be that bad.Everyone has a different view of cleanliness but for me the fun ends with toilets.I can't recommend it, in my opinion!!

Hygiene of the room (feces from the previous person, dirt on the tiles, the landlord was made aware of it, at first he was friendly and apologized. He offered us to move to the holiday apartment, but then we got another call that it hadn't been cleaned. He then offered to pay us for just 1 night and transfer the rest back. He wanted to have pictures because he couldn't get an impression because he was on vacation. A short time later he replied that we were the first to do so We would look for defects and you shouldn't ignore the price-performance ratio, it wouldn't be a 5 star hotel. For me, hygiene has nothing to do with money but with the furnishings of the room. I wrote to him several times and offered him a peaceful solution but no reaction more.I definitely advise against it.

We found this wonderful place by accident. Very nice owner. The spacious room is equipped with everything you need, a kettle, dishes, and a fridge. Perfect location in the city center. Very close to Penny supermarket. Great attractions in the area, 15 km to Bastei, 30 km to Dresden, 20 km to Pirna. I sincerely recommend it.

It is very village-like and has a pleasant atmosphere. Stolpen is a 'small town' where mass tourism has not yet taken hold. You should not expect a super deluxe hotel. …

Communication with the host before the start of the trip was very uncomplicated and you could call at any time to clarify any outstanding questions. The arrival and collection of keys was also made easier with the help of a key box. The accommodation found was as described on the host's website. Both our own room and the kitchen, including the seating and dining area, offered enough space for cooking and relaxing and everything we needed was there. The large number of books, magazines, travel guides and maps are particularly positive. The host himself was happy to provide advice on excursions and the like. During the stay he asked several times whether everything was OK or whether something was missing. A special highlight was the tour through the specially renovated, historically valuable cellar vault. This vaulted cellar has been converted into a sauna with a relaxation room and a romantic-looking vaulted seating area. I find it remarkable that there are still people today who make the appropriate effort to preserve historical objects and make them available to other people. This can also be seen in the entire accommodation, which is very lovingly and detailedly furnished - and is therefore simply authentic. The location of the accommodation in the town of Stolpen itself can also be described as excellent, as you are right at the gate to the town's old town. There are parking spaces almost 150 m from the accommodation. There is a shop directly opposite. The local bakery is just a minute's walk from the property. All in all, we had a very nice and pleasant stay at the Locanda al Castello guesthouse. The price-performance ratio can be rated as very good. We'd love to come back!

The apartment is centrally located, shops for daily needs can be reached quickly and there is a private parking space within sight. At first glance, the house exudes a stylish impression, which is confirmed inside as a "living basement". “Living basement” because there are no windows and lovingly furnished with roof/cellar and barn finds. The disillusionment comes in the two bedrooms with the two bathrooms. Here, less is more, and this also applies to Wi-Fi, which is practically non-existent. Curious: The kitchen (also windowless) is used by other tenants? shared, so you are never really private in this apartment. The landlord, an advocate of the Way of St. James, seems friendly but distracted. His reprimand about a dirty towel on the day of departure surprised and outraged at the same time.Recommend? with mixed feelings.

Very clean, very friendly. Centrally located and yet quiet. We got married in Stolpen and were able to do everything on foot.
