We went to the forestry house for dinner this evening. We had pre-ordered a table and it was beautifully prepared for a birthday. I had a salad with candied nuts on a bed of colorful lettuce and homemade vinaigrette. Really a poem, the salad was really 😋 delicious!!! Then a Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes. Very good, everything fresh and well seasoned, no chemical seasoning! Really good.The cellar beer is tasty and you should definitely try the monastery brother, it clears the bronchi and makes the liver celebrate. No, the herb isn't that bad, but it makes your heart warm.Ambience rustic but still contemporary. Staff very friendly and quick to get going. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back again.

I spent two nights here. However, I was not at all satisfied with my room. The room was more of a small apartment spread over two floors. Right next to the entrance was the toilet, which had neither soap nor a towel. Some of the light didn't work and in the upper room, which only has two tiny windows, there was no ceiling light at all. But there was a shower made of glass blocks that was built in the middle of the room so that you could hardly get around it. Unfortunately, the lack of light couldn't hide the bright green wall paint that blighted the entire room. Unfortunately, the tiny floor-level window near the bed doesn't have a proper curtain, so guests from the adjacent hotel can see directly onto their own bed. The heating didn't work either, so the room was significantly too cold.Some of the staff tried very hard, but the younger staff could take further training on the topic of friendliness.

We spent one night in the Alte Försterei on our bike trip. We received a very warm welcome. We also had a very good meal in the evening. The room was clean and matches the great architecture of the Alte Försterei. The breakfast was great and left nothing to be desired. The staff was very warm, attentive and helpful. The Alte Försterei is simply recommended.PS: There is also a bike shed

Rustic ambience in a historic setting. Pleasant stay.Nice service and tasty food.Rooms are rustic and lovingly furnished.Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, possible until 10 a.m. on weekends, but you had to wait a long time until the buffet was refilled and coffee was refilled. Selection sparse.It's a shame, that doesn't correspond to the usual standard.

We ate there once today, the only disaster. After 1.5 hours we got our lunch. We had to pour the beer into our own glasses. The bottles and the menu were not cleared away in between. The staff was totally overwhelmed. A photo of the table, we went into the dining room to pay because there was no waiter available.

Very cute restaurant in beautiful surroundings. The service is very friendly and attentive. The menu reads well, but gets lost in the pretension and ends up on the table with good, classic food. Expectable quality and bourgeois taste experience. On the recommendation of a third person, I chose the burger, I wouldn't order it again. The dish doesn't fit the store and doesn't do anything for its appearance. The classic dishes seemed much more authenticEdit on second visit.Disastrous service in the restaurant. Underground organization, guests are forgotten several times, wrong food, wrong drinks and, to top it off, a 1.5 hour waiting time. 10 tables occupied at maximum. Completely disorganized. The man of the house sets a bad example. Failure across the board. I've never experienced anything like this. Sorry - there won't be a third attempt

You have to keep developing and never stop learning!!!After many years, my wife and I were here again to see if anything about the restaurant had improved since our last disappointing visit in 2021. After all, before 2004 the house was once a top restaurant in which we truly feasted.Unfortunately our expectations were not met.The service was unable to reveal any level of knowledge about my wife's urgent need for a gluten-free diet and immediately stated that the cook certainly couldn't say anything about it.So my wife could only choose a dish that she knew was made without flour containing gluten.My ribs were good. The fries were a bit soft - not crispy.The ambience of the nostalgic property is historic and really good. But it's not enough for 4 stars in the overall rating.Sometimes I really wonder how some people give 5 stars here. They have to have pretty low standards. How many stars do you want to give when you actually go out for a good meal? 5 is the best and the Alte Försterei is at best mediocre and needs to work on itself.

Cozy nostalgic antique hotel with modern sleeping options, beautiful history and full layout of the building.The restaurant has a good menu and serves seasonal dishes.All products come from the region as much as possible.Service is very friendly and helpfulNice to cycle to historical places in the area.Wittenberg is easily accessible by car to experience the history of Martin Luther.Walk through town with museum monastery and their local herbal bitters.
