The room was ok, it was a bit small and there were very few sockets. The service was good. The location wasn't great because it was on a mountain and you had to upload everything again, which was tiring, but the view was nice.

Super friendly, fast and competent team. The JH is at 936m - the starting point for beautiful hikes and a beautiful view over large parts of the Vogtland. The staff have put together a nice program for our school trip. There was a campfire and always help where needed. The food was delicious. There was a varied buffet and a sufficient packed lunch. The rooms were clean and cozy and warm despite a small cold snap. Unreserved recommendation!

First of all: I cannot share the criticism of the food. The breakfast had a large selection of different rolls, cold cuts and the like.I was there with my 7th grade class and no one complained about the breakfast. The hot meals were also absolutely fine. My highlight were the goose legs with dumplings. The view is fantastic. But you should definitely be good on foot :)Now especially for teachers: On day 1, the “rascals” in the class wanted to play all sorts of practical jokes at night. From day 2 onwards everyone was so tired in the evening that it was quiet. Definitely a program to work out :)I could now mention nice details, but to sum it up: Absolute recommendation for a school trip 👍

As a family with children, we are in this great youth hostel for the third time in a row.The breakfast is delicious and varied. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and requests are also taken into account. Our ice packs are always ice cold and ready for use.The surroundings are fantastic and invite you to go on many hikes and eBike tours. The evening highlight is the sunset from Aschberg. The latest highlight is the highest and second longest bank in the Vogtland. (Height 936 m, length 29.50 m)We'll definitely be back.

The beds are far too small and there are no sockets on the beds. The food is pretty bad. In addition, the coffee machine wastes money and cannot change

Over the course of many hiking tours, we got to know a lot of accommodation options. But we didn't have a youth hostel yet. Unfortunately this time it was booked for us by our travel company. This is either fundamentally or at least not really something for hikers in this case.Things were missing that you don't carry around with you as a hiker and that are actually standard: shower gel and hairdryer. Alcoholic drinks only by reception staff from a locked room and only until 6 p.m. Reserved a double room and got a room with a single bed and a double bunk bed.Dinner: Schnitzel from the convection oven, potato salad of a quality that no discounter would dare to offer its customers.Breakfast: not better either. The rolls crumbled when they were cut open, as if they had been baked again and again. So only recommended for hard-core and pain-free people.

Hello to all parents and teachers who want to send their children to this hostel. This is in a wonderful location, in the beautiful Vogtland. Klingenthal is in a very idyllic location, embedded in mountains and forests. The youth hostel is in a fantastic location, right next to the forest. If it weren't for the nasty, strawberry-blond chef with his sleazy appearance. Disgusting to think that this kitchen lout has anything to do with food...He was still wearing what was probably the same dirty black chef's jacket on the third day! Breakfast wasn't replenished because this kitchen boy urgently had to go smoke...that's what he smelled like afterwards. He turned the rolls into stone, at least they were as hard as basalt. The color was also very close. New rolls were refused, and he also became extremely naughty and presumptuous. You could tell that he wasn't the brightest... Letting people like that loose on guests, especially children, shows incompetence in the selection of employees.Food isn't cooled properly on the buffet...and the strawberry-blond chef thinks that's not necessary. Incompetent, cheeky and unkempt...a fine mix......Of course, this only reflects my personal opinion, as I see the whole thing as a personal individual. Legally, you always have to say something about it.
