The two of us had dinner at the inn in the evening and I have to say that we have hardly enjoyed any better food in the area. We had goulash with homemade dumplings and a side salad. Everything is super tasty! The beer was delicious, the service was very friendly and the price-performance ratio was great! We'd love to come back :)

The Gasthof zum Goldenen Hirsch has become my absolute favorite restaurant. Whenever I'm near Geroldsgrün I come by.The food is unbeatably delicious. The portions are perfect and the prices are absolutely fair. Just like it was in the good old days before everything became expensive.There is good local cuisine and everything is handmade. Be it the goose breast or the sauces, everything is homemade and no ready-made meal like in most restaurants these days. You don't find something like that very often these days.Always worth a visit.

Today the four of us had dinner at the inn for the first time. The various dishes were all very tasty. The service was friendly and professional. And the whole thing is also very inexpensive. A clear recommendation.At first we thought the restaurant wasn't even open. The stairs at the main entrance were locked with a chain. And there was no menu in the showcase.🤔

Due to our spontaneous decision to go out for something to eat, we couldn't get in to some of the restaurants near the Bad Steben thermal baths without a reservation. We ended up there by chance and we didn't regret it! Great quality, everything freshly prepared, the schnitzels were a dream. And for really good prices! We will definitely be back and regularly! The staff was also super nice and very comfortable.

The lunch is excellent. The sauerbraten, the beef roulade and the cod are first class. Unfortunately the rooms are not up to date. The outbuilding in which the rooms are located has a construction site feel. The price agreed by email for the room for 3 adults was increased on site from 90 euros to 110 euros because there was no room for 3 adults. The confirmation of the room was confirmed twice. The next morning breakfast was good and plentiful.

It couldn't be worse. The restaurant was well rated on Google and was also recommended to us by a spa guest from Bad Steben. So reserved a table for 5.When we got there they said it was only reserved for 4. The waitress was already in a bad mood, but that wasn't our fault. But then she found a table for us.Then we had to wait until we even got the drinks/meal tickets. The first mistake was made when ordering the beer. A shandy came (after a long time) instead of a normal beer. My parents are a little easier, it wasn't so bad for them.After more than 15 minutes the waitress came back to finally take the food. When ordering, we asked whether the Kässpätzle were liquid or nicely gratinated (solid). We were assured that these were not in a liquid sauce. So we ordered these.Now it was about an hour for the food. Our daughter was already half starving until the schnitzel was finally served. It wasn't the biggest, but probably the best meal of the day.The roast veal was served cold and the Kässpätzle were in a strange cream-like sauce - exactly what we didn't want. The attempt at fried onions also went absolutely wrong. There were a few large clumps of onions that were slightly, if at all, sauteed.When the waitress cleared away the obligatory question was whether it was tasty. Of course I answered no, but she wasn't really interested in that either.No apology, no demand, nothing.CONCLUSION:Just don't eat there!
