Thank you for the lovely days. We'd love to come back. We had a great room with a balcony, a view of the Lahn and Bad Ems , croissant, sausage, cheese and homemade jam. Egg, yoghurt, muesli, everything is great. Coffee and tea are available free of charge all day long. Beer, wine, water and soft drinks are cool and can be taken out of the fridge for a fee .The rooms were clean and comfortably furnished. The owners are very friendly and it wasn't a problem that we were there a little early. We would be happy to come back and can highly recommend the hotel.Thank you very much.

I come every year with friends. We are becoming more and more recently 8 people. The hotel lives from the great owners who are passionate hosts. The owner cooks brilliantly. Once a week is a pampering evening. The deer was a dream yesterday. The boss impresses with his unmistakable sense of humor. The breakfasts were great and very rich. On Sundays there are also small heart cakes - I can never get enough of them. The view of the valley is magnificent. I'm looking forward to next time.

We stayed at the Hotel Wintersberg with 6 people over the weekend. We had 3 top modern equipped double rooms. Super clean and well maintained. Thanks to the great secluded location in the forest, something for people who are looking for peace and quiet in a well-kept setting. We ate at a top level and experienced very friendly, customer-oriented service. You can feel everywhere that the family-run hotel reflects the esprit of the owners! Gladly again! Highly recommended!

More of a very welcoming family guest house.Decent hotel which gives a feel of family guest house. Not overly modern but decor fits the ambience perfectly. Owners are very welcoming. Room which we got was quite huge with a nice view. Also a small balcony.Positives and negatives with the location, you need to hop in the car and drive to the city to get something to eat. But then you get a view and feel away from the hustle bustle of the city. The hotel does have some drinks in the bar.Breakfast is good nothing phenomenal like claimed by some other reviewers however I would go with the option unless you want to take up and drive down to the city for your first good coffee. Also the view from the restaurant is worth the price. They provide some homemade marmalades and quite delicious selection of breads.

The location is quite nice, in the middle of the forest. Unfortunately, according to the owner, it is not possible to choose a "specific" room when booking online via the website, which is what is suggested. My "selection AND my written booking confirmation" were for "Balkon Lahnblick" and so I was happy in advance about the wide view from the balcony. Unfortunately we were given a room with a forest view, which isn't "bad", but not what motivated me to make my final booking in the first place. I found the owner's statement that it was technically not possible to select when booking online, only when booking by telephone, to be absolutely out of date these days. But if that is the case, this should be clearly stated! Parking is possible without any problems. The outdoor area is nice, but in my opinion more could be done with it. The owner's welcome and interaction with guests is nice and warm! There is no criticism! However, there was an unpleasant “musty smell” in the entrance area of the hotel. Room clean but small. The bed squeaked with every movement, but this only became apparent at night and could therefore only have been remedied after our stay. Breakfast is very good and leaves nothing to be desired. Nevertheless, I don't think price/performance is appropriate overall. High price of around 110 euros, but possibly due to the local festival.

What's really a shame is that as a guest you can no longer get drinks or food there. The hotel is of course getting old, but is in a wonderful location on the mountain from which you can look out over the city of Bad Ems. Whatever the reason for not being served as a guest, there will be reasons. The waitress was still very nice and kindly pointed this out to me. I wish you all the best!
