A wonderfully quiet house where you feel completely welcome with children. Admittedly, the apartments are getting old and you should start renovating them gradually. If that's not enough, you can book hotel-standard rooms for an additional charge.Luckily, the house offers so many leisure activities that you don't spend much time in the rooms. The holiday program is really very varied and was a lot of fun. Thank you for the wonderful time, which we will also remember fondly from a culinary point of view!

Nice, clean house with super nice staff - rooms are a bit "out of date" - but still definitely "worth the trip"

I was staying in Holiday Land Salem with a friend as part of a sailing course. We had full board. The food was absolutely fine and geared towards the predominant children and families. We can't complain. It was always tasty and sufficient. The only small criticism: we put ourselves on the list every evening in order to receive a packed lunch for lunch the next day and were forgotten every day (except the penultimate day), so we always had to ask. If you make such lists, please read them too. The list sat untouched in the dining room every morning.Basically, a little more communication would be very nice. We always had to ask about everything regarding the food and generally received hardly any information in advance. The rooms were great, everything worked. The employees are all super friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable.

Great place to unwind and explore the area. Delicious and rich food and the ladies and gentlemen really try to fulfill or answer all questions, requests, etc.

The 5 stars are easy to explain: We have been going to the holiday destination with our children for 15 (!) years - it is always great! What makes the holiday destination special?Freedom – Nothing has to, everything can! When we traveled for the first few years and the children were small, we really enjoyed having the children in care (kindergarten, youth group) in the mornings and/or afternoons. The nice thing is that there is no obligation to go there. This means that as we got older we went on more trips, the area is great and even the Baltic Sea is only an hour's drive away. The children are now older and some of them lead groups themselves as holiday helpers, and so the parents have other freedom, for example to go on long bike tours (with a rental bike or their own bike - it's safe in the bike shed!). So if you want to reconcile family and relaxation, the holiday destination is absolutely right for you: Arrive, park your car and the children are “at home” and the parents are on holiday! The food is tasty and children in particular always have a choice - no one leaves the dining room hungry. The modernization of the rooms has certainly not been completed yet, but everything is functional. The bathrooms in the apartments are small, but each bedroom in the apartment has its own bathroom, so you can get along well even as a family with several members. When it comes to both points (food, rooms), you should ask yourself what you want before writing a negative review: The holiday destination is not a 4-star resort with star cuisine - and that's a good thing! People come together here who want to spend a nice, relaxing time together - and it works wonderfully! Many friendships have been formed here over the years. And the staff were always nice, helpful and “on their toes” in everything. Forgotten a towel change? A problem with the mattress? The washing machine doesn't open? A tip for your next trip? Everything will be done immediately. The program designed by the house serves all needs (excursions, creative times, impulses,...) and the cooperation with the SeenLandAgentur located on site is exemplary (e.g. if a sailing trip or a canoe trip has to be canceled due to weather, an alternative date can always be found). The fact that in both cases there are additional costs for canoeing, sailing, climbing, etc. for some in-house offers as well as for the SeenLandAgentur, should not be hidden, but it is also somehow self-evident. The same applies here again: you can, but you don't have to.What else is worth mentioning?WiFi… probably a must these days. In our first years in Salem there was no problem at all, but there were now certainly no disruptions in the main building (foyer, restaurant and the adjoining lounge). Otherwise, 4-5G is usually available. But I'll be honest - I like to be offline sometimes, and it's always enough to check the messages or quickly download something. The location is of course perfect because it is so quiet. Fantastic nature - also something for birdwatchers: the sea eagle and others are there 😉! The swimming area can be reached quickly on foot. Sitting at the small sports boat harbor and enjoying the peace and quiet is also wonderful. Other swimming areas on Lake Kummerow or surrounding lakes are easy to reach by car, as are supermarkets (Malchin or Neukalen). For people with a religious and/or musical background: The chapel is beautiful and has great acoustics - playing instruments is allowed!
