My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there this year, it was our first visit there. The Hotel is tucked away in the Odenwald, the area is well known among hikers. The Hotel and Restaurant have been tastefully renovated, to a very high standard hand painted murals decorating the walls.The short Menu card provides a variety of choices, including Vegetarien dishes. The Ginger Carrot Soup was a wonderful starter, each course was well presented and maintained the high standard.We later left for home, happy with memories of a pleasant evening.

Thoroughly recommended!Despite not having reserved a table, we were greeted very friendly and courteously.Great ambience, extremely tasty food, prices absolutely reasonable for what is on offer.Compliments to the operators and many thanks to the great team!We felt very comfortable.

Great service in the restaurant, everyone was very nice. Our dog was immediately offered a bowl of water.There were 8 of us with children. The food came at the same time and was plentiful. It was very tasty and we will definitely be back.

The Gasthof zum Ochsen is in a quiet location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated. There are parking spaces directly behind the house. The restaurant is very cozy. There was a very tasty, varied breakfast.I would like to come back sometime

Location is newly renovated. Nice and big.I had pepper steak.Meat, sauce, fried potatoes and green beans all worthy of 5 stars.Service attentive and friendly.Can only be recommended.We really liked it.

Great, absolute insider tip!To be honest, we stayed at the Gasthof zum Ochsen for one night because the hotel we actually wanted to book was fully booked. Fortunately!It is a small hotel based on a family-run inn.The family took over the inn in 2022 and modernized it very nicely. Everything is up to date. There are twelve rooms. We had the comfort room. Next time I would try to get one of the two large hello rooms because the comfort room and the regular room are also very nice, but are quite small.We visited the restaurant and the food was excellent. There is nothing wrong with the prices, they are average.Breakfast starts at 9:00 a.m. and is served at the table. There are all sorts of coffees to choose from and eggs can also be served if you wish. Otherwise there is muesli, berries, jam and a rich bread basket on the table. We also tried out the sauna area, which is of course brand new and equipped with all sorts of things that you don't actually take for granted, such as scented oils, aroma lamps and relaxation reading. Bathrobes and towels are also available. We traveled from Heidelberg with the e-bikes and were able to park and charge the bikes in the sheltered courtyard at night. Clear recommendation!

Very great restaurant. A nice terrace when the weather is nice. Dogs are welcome and are immediately given a bowl of water. Very friendly, fast service. Service overall top notch. The quality of the food is very good and the portions are large, so the prices are justified. Rump steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Would come back at any time.You have to make a reservation.
