The rooms in the hotel are clean, after renovation. There is a coffee machine at reception 24/7 to the disposition. We only had breakfast and it lived up to the hotel's rating. The staff was willingly responsive to our requests. There are many trails for hiking and bicycle. I don't understand the negative reviews - this is a 3 star hotel and someone expects the service of a 5 star spa hotel.

So I can't understand the bad reviews here. Guys, you're all spoiled! Price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. I can't expect 5 star services and only pay 3 stars! I also recommend reading the booking documents carefully so that there are no surprises (such as the swimming pool in the sister hotel, for example).The room was clean, although a bit small.To get to the dining room you have to climb about 40 steps. It's not really barrier-free, even outside you have to climb a few places. The 3-course buffet was warm, tasty and varied. There were 3 different meat dishes with vegetables and side dishes. A soup of the day and a salad buffet rounded things off. Everyone will be fed up!The dining room itself was only heated with a fan, but it didn't bother us.The breakfast was completely okay: 2 different types of rolls, bread, 2 different types of sausage and cheese, vegetables, yogurt with muesli/cereals, fried and boiled eggs, sausages or meatballs, coffee and tea as well as non-alcoholic juices from the machine - what more do you need ...When the displays were empty, the staff immediately restocked them. We were almost always the last guests at the buffet.The staff was very friendly and motivated.The dining room looked newly renovated and attractive.About the location: Masserberg is approx. 2 km away, Suhl, Coburg and Ilmenau can be reached in 30-45 minutes. The Werraquelle and the Rennsteig are within walking distance.So I would come back!

Were here for a week, unfortunately the room wasn't cleaned once, the room was big enough and furnished normally. Service and staff were very friendly and the food was always good, but unfortunately it wasn't really warm from time to time. Had booked Roulette and unfortunately have to say that both other hotels "Franken Blick" and "Heubacher Höhe" are at least 1 star higher in terms of amenities, both other hotels have a bar where you can purchase other drinks for a fee. Unfortunately, only all-inclusive drinks are available here until 9:30 p.m., after which non-alcoholic drinks can be taken from a vending machine in the lobby.

I totally enjoyed my stay here. I'm really having a hard time understanding the bad comments here. The hotel staff were very, very nice. Even the friendly small talks I had with them were enough to ease the fatigue of the big city I came from. The food selection was also good. In this clean air and safe, extremely polite atmosphere, even two hours of sleep is enough. I can only recommend this hotel in nature🏡! Undoubtedly I will take my family there next time! It was an unforgettable 3 days for me with my best friends!

We have felt very comfortable here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and everything worked. We were very impressed by the location of the hotel, close to the Werra spring, which you can reach on foot from there and there are many excursion options. In any case, the price is rightPerformance ratio. In contrast to other reviews, we would like to say that we enjoyed the food. You can't pay for 3 stars and then expect five. In any case, we can recommend the hotel with a clear conscience. We would like to say a big thank you to the whole team for the wonderful days we spent there.

We stayed in this hotel for a few days. Rooms are okay and the reception staff are also very friendly. Unfortunately there is only poultry and fish with rice all week long and regional food is not available. On Saturday there was beef goulash and noodles. Two types of poultry sausage for breakfast and dinner, which unfortunately no longer look so attractive, and one type of cheese rolls itself. The drinks worked fine for the first two days because we were able to get juice and cola ourselves upon request. On the third day there was a waiter who forbade us from self-service with unfriendly words, so I ordered the drinks from him and waited for over 20 Nothing happened for minutes. By that time we had already finished eating. When we asked the hotel staff when we left we were told that all 3 hotels were in Turkish hands and therefore there was no pork, well I mean if I'm on holiday in Thuringia I don't have to eat like a Muslim but I also want something regional . Everyone has to know for themselves but from my side I recommend against the 3 hotels in Masserberg

Cheap 3 star AI hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and in good condition upon arrival. But it was only cleaned once during the 7 days. You had to organize fresh towels in the laundry room. Food was ok. Location is good for a hiking holiday and there is free parking right next to the house. The sauna in the basement is on from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is space for up to 8 people and it was never too full during our vacation. Bathrobes are available at reception.Conclusion: If you book and pay for 3 stars, you cannot demand 4 or 5 stars.

We booked through Sonnenklar. Unfortunately, we are looking for the best out of 3 hotels. We were sold a wellness and spa vacation. What we didn't find. Mini small rooms. Room cleaning not included in a week. No German-speaking staff, but they still made a lot of effort. The food was unfortunately very questionable for a 3 star hotel. When we left early, the porter said that we hadn't paid much; (€750) I think it's not a small amount that we shouldn't have expected much.40 steps to the dining room were quite demanding and difficult for some guests to manage. Should be mentioned.We would never book a Hotel Roulette again.

The hotel is in a very good location for hiking and cycling. But you shouldn't expect any culinary highlights when eating... the composition of the dishes is a bit strange. But we were full. We paid €140 per person half board for 5 nights so you can ignore certain things.
