We were in the Salztal Paradies during the fall holidays of 2024 and were shocked by the “park” and/or the conditions.It has to be said that as a family of 6 (4 children between 2 and 12 years old) we have been to a Landal Park several times, including on Texel, in Sluftervallei or in Hof van Saksen. We also know that you can't always influence everything, but what we discovered in the Harz region deeply disappointed us.When we moved into our house (we specifically chose a children's house), we first had to clean for 3.5 hours in order to at least have a basic feeling of well-being. Unfortunately the reception was already closed, it was just enough to get our keys. The next day I went to reception and also had to report many technical defects. Here is an overview of all the abnormalities:• The light in the hallway and cloakroom didn't work• The night light on the bed in the child's room was so loose that it almost fell off and cables were accessible• The light in the utility room goes out and is only attached to the cable• The intermediate entrance door squeaked and dragged so loudly that it was difficult to use it when the children were in bed• There were hooks torn off everywhere in the bathroom, the rest were not removed but left on the wall like a mosaic• The clothes horse was unusable, rusted and broken in two places• We had the children's house: There were exactly 2 coloring pictures in the holders provided, which was pretty bad for 4 children• The refrigerator buzzer only worked sporadically and made strange noises• The dishwasher (I'm an expert) could be quieter, but what really bothered me was that it wasn't working properly• The heater on the window side was leaking water• On the fourth day our toilet overflowed and had to be unclogged by the caretaker• Speaking of the children's house: There was no cupboard or sideboard where we could change the child's diaper. There was a mat, but should I always put it on the kitchen table? Incomprehensible!• The shelf on the high chair definitely hasn't been cleaned for six months• The vacuum cleaner in the house (we had one ourselves, thank God) was so dirty that we had to give it a thorough cleaning first.• Two bed sheets were torn and didn't hold the blanket, which then kept slipping out of the cover• The tray on the gaming table was extremely dirty• The picture of the shower separation speaks for itself and requires no further explanationWith all due respect, we as parents of 4 children are certainly used to a lot, are very balanced and can certainly handle a lot, but that was beyond our understanding of the operators and the boys and girls on site.It doesn't matter to me whether the accommodation cost €1,000 or €1,800. There are a few things that I take for granted in EVERY accommodation.What surprised us at least was the fact that it wasn't really a "park". Although I have to admit that we probably should have taken a closer look at the small print. There was a playground and the somewhat outdated swimming pool was also included. Everything else, unless you wanted to spend the whole day in the apartment described above, had to be paid for.Ice skating, indoor hall, and most of the “craft activities” were not a gift. We certainly understand that the operators don't want to run the ice rink directly, but we actually accepted a combination or a discount as a Landal guest. However, this is dissatisfaction that I would just like to share; we should have been more informed about this, as described.

Landal Salztal Paradies in Bad Sachsa is a fantastic family-friendly getaway in the Harz region. The houses are spacious and comfortable. It has a great water park, and has easy access to scenic hiking trails. This Landal park is a perfect spot for both relaxation and outdoor fun. Highly recommended!!

Friday after a normal working day on the way to the Landalpark. At 1900 at the park. After calling a number of times along the way, with no one answering, we arrived at reception. Everything was closed. No emergency number. Nothing. The Landal office itself could only be reached until 1700, so that was of no use. We are waiting together with 5 other families. But no one can be reached anymore. Turns out a code was needed. Fortunately, after 45 minutes a new couple arrived who had received the code. I understand that there may be a shortage of staff, but this is simply not nice.Broken lights in the house. Holes in the duvet items. Shame. Normally always very enthusiastic about the landal parlen. But now very disappointed by the “reception” or well, the lack thereof.

Never again Landal for us.We were really looking forward to this holiday. There was a typo in the email address when booking. Instead of Landal noticing this, which I believe is also their task, if something is not correct in terms of payments, the booking went wrong. We had paid properly. We have lost the latter because they shield themselves behind their so-called delivery conditions and 0 leniency. Because what they should have done is looked for a suitable solution together with us. The house has now simply been rented out. Double income for Landal, so... What a theft! Not everyone has the time to deal with administration around a holiday. I think this is your job.Thank you Landal for depriving us of this holiday and our money. Human dimension, customer friendliness hard to find.A warm welcome... no, it is a holiday factory where only money has to be made.Think about that carefully before you book with them....Terrible organization.

Everything other reviewers have stated here may be true. However, I have to strongly criticize the availability of parking spaces. There are simply not enough of them within an acceptable distance from your own accommodation. The ones that exist are poorly laid out, the lines are designed according to the required number of spaces, not according to the width of actually existing vehicles.This creates unrest on the access roads, which are also very narrow. Either someone parks in or out in 40 moves, exceeds the 10 km/h speed limit in annoyance because they can't find a parking space or has to drive backwards x meters because there is oncoming traffic.Addendum: our four year old just found a blister of oxycodine 5mg under a bed, four tablets remaining. They belonged on the pillow!

The accommodation and the entire area around it are great. The staff is incredibly friendly. All activities nearby are also easily accessible and leave nothing to be desired. Everything is affordable in terms of price. We would love to come back!

Beautiful park with beautiful spacious, luxurious houses! Also very clean! And the seats people complained about in the previous reviews were all replaced this week.Good last minute deal. Nice large extensive swimming pool, included. For sauna facilities 3 euros pp. There is also a beautiful indoor and outdoor play area for the kids, including a ball pit. The large play paradise that is also shown in the photos on the site is not included for free. We haven't been. We had a house on the bottom row, so no problems with stairs with a stroller. Nice village within walking distance (5-10 minutes) with restaurants and shops. Further famous sights of the Harz (Goslar, bad Harzburg, quedelinburg, Thale) ect. a bit further drive (45-50 minutes), but it makes for nice day trips. Driving there through beautiful nature, so no punishment! There is more to do in the area, but we have not been there. Besides lunch on the Ravensberg, recommended a nice German restaurant and food.

Stayed for a midweek in this Landalpark. The two of us in a six-person house, so we had the space. The houses (or actually more apartments above and below) are spacious and equipped with all necessities. During our stay, all chairs in the houses were replaced.Parking is available in various places in the park, usually close to your accommodation.Opposite the park is a swimming paradise that is freely accessible to guests: beautiful!The park is within walking distance of the village of Bad Sachsa, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Unfortunately it's getting a bit old and needs some care! The green areas weren't mowed at all during our week and the grass was already very high when we arrived! The swimming area and the ice rink are great and there is a lot to do in the area! Would definitely come again.

Totally unsuitable reception staff.I had a nice big apartment, in a perfect place for a sports fan. Straight into the woods. I stayed here with a pet.Even though I was initially going to travel further on Monday, I decided to stay longer because I liked it.On Saturday I went to reception and asked if I could stay longer and therefore book an additional room. This was possible. The house was still available, but the boy did not know how to arrange this in the system. If I could come back later (the next day). Go to reception again on Sunday. This time a lady. Yes, the house was still available and I could stay longer (until Friday). She would record this in the computer system and the next day I could come and pay and pick up the new guest ticket.On Monday at 9am I received a call that I had to leave the house before 11am because the reception lady had not managed to enter it into the system on Sunday and now other people had booked the holiday home in the meantime and it was not possible. more free.So I'm trying to book more from Saturday. Due to an incompetent reception, this is not properly recorded and if other people book the holiday home in the meantime, I have to leave in a hurry and find myself on the street with my pet!! Even though I was already staying there and had been trying to arrange it for 3 days.Landal staff doesn't care!! And treats its customers that way.Incomprehensible!!!

On tuesday I tried to contact Landal about arriving outside reception hours. The number was unreachable so I emailed them.They emailed back shortly and said it’s okay to arrive outside reception hours and the key for our booking should be inside the safe and they sent us the code for the safe. I then indicated I would arrive on Wednesday on their website.On Wednesday (an hour ago) we arrived at Landal salztal after a 8h drive from the Netherlands with our 3 small kids and opened the safe: Nothing inside! We pressed the button for information three times and they hang up on us and told us to go to the swimming pool. The women at the pool said she did not have a key and tried to call the reception number. I then tried to call some telephone numbers online but also unreachable. No one picked up. The swimmingpool lady told us to go back to the safe and press the button for information again. However information was very rude again and said they could not do anything and to go back to the pool. Mind you, we stood here with three small kids (ages 0 to 4!) who just sat in a car for 8hrs and were ready for dinner.The lady at the pool rang a colleague and fortunately he had an emergency key to open the appartement. Since the key was an emergency we could not have it, so we could not go out for dinner. This was a stressful start of our holiday and not at all what we expected. The apartment itself looks nice and the area as well, the pool lady and her colleague was very nice and lifesavers! Hopefully the rest of the holiday will be better and we will get a key tomorrow.For now we are very disappointed how things went and how information treated us.

Nice house, everything was fairly clean. We were afraid of what we had seen in reviews of dirty armchairs and mold here and there, but we did not encounter it. The swimming pool opposite is free to use for Salztal Paradies users with the Hatix card. Swimming pool is nice. Lots of greenery in the park and immediately beyond. Not very suitable if you have difficulty walking due to stairs. Whatever it is, it would be a walking paradise, but you have to find it yourself and there are no signposted routes. In the village you can find restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Please note that some places are not open until late here and sometimes you cannot pay by card. However, a bank with an ATM is nearby. If you are looking for entertainment outside Bad Sachsa such as museums, mines, etc. you are easily a half to 1 hour drive away, with the biggest obstacle in Wieda where you can only drive 30km to the entire elongated village.
