Very suitable for families with children.

We originally wanted to book because we saw that dogs were allowed.However, when we asked, we were told that you can't take your dog into the restaurant or bar. This means that a dog is only allowed to stay in the room or only for a short time to cross the hotel.But something like this is perhaps not entirely unimportant to mention if you already offer a holiday with a dog.We've had something like this before and then we were only able to do something because my parents were there and looked after our dog at the time. Otherwise we could have just spent the whole time in the room or outside the complex because we weren't allowed to go anywhere with our dog and we don't see the point of leaving our dog alone the whole time just because we're going on vacation. He's just as much a part of the family as everyone else.I hope there are some people who think the same way and avoid such offers out of love for animals.Either completely or not at all.

This will be a detailed review:When we arrived at this hotel, I have to admit that we almost turned around before entering the hotel because the hotel looks anything but appealing from the outside, downright intimidating. To be honest, I don't understand why people don't spend the money again, because the impression that the facade gives is really bad.Now to the rooms: When booking you can see that the different rooms differ greatly and that the cheap rooms are in a rather simple, old condition. That's why we booked the most expensive room category from the start and I have to say it was worth it. The room was large, newly renovated and really clean. Even in the bathroom, where there is often mold in the shower or the joints are “old”, I have to say that everything was very clean. However, the bathroom was really very small with only a small shower.Briefly about (room) service: I have to say, I'm used to a higher standard from other hotels. Someone came every two days to change the towels and make the bed if requested. But that was it.I think that in a hotel with a sauna area it should be an included service that you are provided with bathrobes and don't have to “rent” them separately, even if the price of just under €7 is completely okay.Which brings us to the next point, swimming pool/sauna. The large pool and the small children's pool certainly offer the opportunity to relax for an hour or two, although I really criticize the temperatures there. The baby pool is not only warm, but actually almost uncomfortably warm, whereas the large pool is far too cold. The baby pool is warmer, which is normal for a baby pool, and the large pool is cooler for just splashing around, more like a sports pool temperature. The sauna is really nice for a hotel and is also large and clean, but I personally didn't want to spend time there to "relax" after a sauna session because the loungers were rather uncomfortable plastic garden loungers. That would be nice if there was something more comfortable here, then you would certainly be able to stay there longer.About the food: We had the all-inclusive version and were really happy with the food, especially in the evening there was always enough choice that everyone should find something, although the selection of main courses is very poor if you eat vegan or vegetarian. The main part of the meal was very “meat-heavy”. What was annoying was that despite the “inclusive” booking, you were not allowed to take a glass of water from the dining room back to your room, for example. Given that I had booked all inclusive, I found it annoying that you were then Either you would have to buy water bottles at the reception or get some in town, and I think you could have gotten water bottles in your room from room service...About the location: Bad Lauterberg is a cute little town that you can easily visit and stroll through, but you can see everything in two hours. The immediate surroundings are nice for walking, especially with older children. However, if you're planning trips, most of the attractions worth seeing (flyers in the lobby) are between 25 and 55 km away and with the winding roads, that can easily mean over an hour's drive.Overall we had a lovely holiday and the hotel is really nice and has a lot to offer, especially for children.

Rooms OK for their age, food is good and service is good.

Benny Biber and the food are the best. The room consists of bulky waste. Original carpet from 1971 with corresponding stains. Beds defective. Sofa and armchair worn. The staff, most of whom have a migration background, are very friendly and helpful. You should invest little by little!

Very good price-performance ratio. Practical equipment, good offers for children. Very nice staff.

Despite an article from last year describing otherwise, no vegan dishes are offered upon request. It's a shame, not very progressive and not exactly environmentally conscious, especially in the Harz region. It would be advisable to delete the blog post that promises otherwise.

The hotel has definitely seen its best days. Our room was very old and shabby. The cleanliness of the hotel left something to be desired in some areas. The rooms were only cleaned upon arrival. However, the staff is always in a good mood and helpful.
