Gut Rothensande

Every now and then you find this special place, where everything feels just right and you instantly feel at home. This is how we felt at this beautiful Hotel Gut Immenhof.My wife and I spent a weekend in April here and although the weather was not perfect, we had the most amazing time in this place.I already knew the restaurant because I had been here twice before with a very close friend who lives in the area. Because of that and because I knew Gut Rothensande before it was renovated and turned into a hotel, I had very high expectations. And just let me say, that all my expectations were exceeded by far.Me and my wife shared a Garden Apartment, which was a two bedroom house, with an open plan kitchen, diner and living room in the ground floor and two double bedrooms on the first floor. It had a private terrace in the backyard, with table and chairs and a direct access to the lake, which, to be fair was still way too cold in April.Everything inside the house and in the whole resort was finished to a very high standard.The breakfast buffet was probably the best I've ever had, the dinner served in the restaurant is outstanding, the cocktail bar in the main building is very stylish and serves exquisite cocktails.But the absolute highlight for me and my wife was the Spa area. A very idyllic place with stunning views across the lake, very quiet, very serene. Just exactly what we were hoping for.On top of all that, all the staff was super friendly and always very helpful.it was our first Tim here at Gut Immenhof, but deffinetly not our last time.Thanks to everyone!

Beautiful location right on the shore of Kellersee near Malente.It has been the location for the "Immenhof" movies from the 50's, perfectly restored to todays standards.Have been there several times for coffe and cake on the terrace located right on the shore of the lake.Definitely worth a visit, free parking available as well.

A gem of a location with amazing potential, only need to sort out few issues.

Second time we visited Gut Immenhof since their opening last year. Here’s a little review of our experience this time.Hands down, the location by the lake and the interiors of the place are very beautiful. You feel at home as soon as you enter the rooms, wanting to spend more time there than just a weekend. This time we were staying in a „Hofsuite“ with Lake view and a little garden, where our kids could play and run around. We were nevertheless a bit disappointed of our whole experience this time.When we arrived, the lady at the reception handed us a Spa Menu along with saying: sorry but the Spa is already fully booked this weekend. I was wondering why I received that leaflet in the first place. Wouldn’t it be more helpful to say: have a look at it and let me know if you’d like to have a massage, we will put you on the waitlist and try to make it work!The restaurant experience was also not ideal. The staff is very very lovely but seemed to stick to some rigid rules where guests are not kings but feel stressed due to all these rules. Dinner had to be ordered by 8:30 pm and the place closed by 10:00 pm. So after you put your kids to bed and then are finally relieved and excited about enjoying a nice dinner, you’re already been asked to wrap it up and leave.Another time one of our kids was very hungry at 5 pm, so one hour before the kitchen opens. We asked if we could have a Plate of Pasta with butter but it was denied. The food in general was very good though, like last year.We thought this could be the place where the family gathers every year and where we we could build up a family tradition. There were quite a few small things that didn’t work this time. As I said, the staff is VERY lovely but the hotel‘s flexibility is very low and not trying to accommodate the wishes of their guests. I didn’t name all of the issues here but we are probably not coming back anytime soon 😔

Unexpected highlight during our tour of the country side

Sensational hotel. Anyone who knows the films will immediately feel transported back.Beautifully maintained complex and hotel, very high quality facilitiesHotel manager very nice and helpful. The entire staff is extremely friendly, you can tell that everyone enjoys working there. The cleaner wishes you a safe journey home and you will always receive a friendly welcome in the restaurant. Nothing is missing. Super great facility with ponies and horses and a guided tour is highly recommended

Went here today in wonderful weather. Very clean and tidy facility. Green areas are beautifully maintained, many flowers are still open in autumn. Stables very nice, clean and quiet. The outdoor areas are also very well maintained. Farm shop and museum an enrichment.

A real experience for everyone who loves the first three films. Whether with an overnight stay or as a day guest.Lovingly restored with great rooms.You can also go horse riding here and choose from three restaurants.The guided tour is also highly recommended.You can celebrate and hold meetings, use the spa or spend an evening by the fireplace.
