Today we celebrated our summer party here with our driving school. We were there ourselves on a recommendation and we had a lot of fun. The farm is very large and offers many opportunities to organize small and large parties. We were picked up from the train station in Aldekerk by the covered wagon where we went to the farm. You will receive a very friendly welcome from the Mackenschins and will be well informed about the process. In general everything went very smoothly.Afterwards we were driven to the Niers where we did the paddling tour. The boats are very large and our group of 12 people plus dog had enough space. Luggage can also be easily stowed away. Unfortunately, we were traveling very slowly and only reached the agreed destination after 2.5 hours. At the end there was a barbecue on the farm. The food was very tasty, there was something for everyone.Thank you for the great day, we would love to come back.

We were there on Saturday (May 25th, 2025) with the family (10 men). For the covered wagon ride followed by a barbecue and super tasty side dishes [everything tasted VERY GOOD!!!] and entertainment together afterwards:like a little photo shoot with Fridolin the chill, well-fed pony and playing games together like rodeo riding, milking a cow, sawing, throwing horseshoes, etc.I know the hay hotel from before and it has developed so beautifully and has brought out the best that could be done. The staff was totally friendly, nice and open. The food and the ambience were simply top.Thank you for everything!!!! We felt very, very comfortable.

We celebrated my 70th birthday with 80 guests at the Dümpenhof. At the end of the celebration everyone agreed:* a great location* rustic atmosphere on a historic Lower Rhine farm complex* friendly, careful, courteous employees who professionally provided service and service* flexible, likeable, helpful Mackenschins couple* stylish, functional, lovingly designed rooms* very good, uncomplicated cooperation with local caterer (Borghs, Straelen) with an excellent range of dishesThank you for everything! So we were able to enjoy my big birthday in a relaxed manner (and very well “taken care of”).Christoph Kämmerling

Had a nice company outing. Covered wagon ride to the Niers, then paddling on the Niers, then we had a barbecue at the Heuhotel and had homemade salads and drinks of all kinds. I can only recommend an all-round successful day!

We experienced a beautiful wedding, but it almost dried up (you had to wait 1-2 hours for the drinks), the older staff were very unfriendly and left an annoyed, overwhelmed impression. After so many years you have to be more structured for a big celebration. Location looks very nice, but not recommended due to the staff and boss.

Pilgrimage site is a complete understatement! Super quiet and beautiful surroundings, suitable rooms and also sufficient service. I've been there a few times now and would go there again and again. It was also a great experience for my family as it was our first time paddling. Great tours and incredible fun. I like gray bread best.

The location is visually very appealing, has great rooms and an attractive courtyard. However, the Heuhotel is no longer the right destination for a wedding celebration. You should know that “flexibility” and “friendliness” are written in VERY SMALL letters here. In addition to impossible interaction with the guests (waitress and also owner), a far too thin cast (4 people for 130 people including food and drinks), resulting waiting times for drinks (quite 1.5 hours - or not at all) and not Capable staff (no ambition to do everything to ensure the guests' satisfaction; quote: "And if 50 more guests complain to me, I don't care!") flexible design wishes of the guests or the bridal couple for games or performances do not come close to being met Trains. Very sad! The previous reviews about weddings and also the personal feedback from other people have currently confirmed this for us.Conclusion: A good address for an 80th birthday and café. A clear no for weddings and other similar celebrations!

We went on a company outing there. Nice par, nice yard, good home-made food. Perfect paddling trips with crickets. I would be happy to come back for a 6th time.

Nice locationWere invited to a weddingThe only stupid thing was that you booked for a longer period of time but then had to leave 2 hours earlierThat's not so nice at a celebration like this
