Gästehaus Schreieck

The hotel would be okay if the prices didn't rise astronomically every year. Last year we paid €130. Now the price is over €190 or more. We are here in the Palatinate and not in Munich or on Lake Achensee in a first class hotel. Apparently business is still too good to return to normal levels. You allow everyone to earn money, but you shouldn't overdo it otherwise the customers will stop coming one day. The waitress should also listen to what the customer orders and not talk to colleagues in order to then convince the customer that the customer has ordered something else.This happened to us. I now find it impossible for the customer to be accused of saying something wrong just because the waitress didn'tlistened.Sometimes I think in today's society that cheeky wins.To be honest, we don't need that.I hope this criticism is also tolerated.

Our room was very inviting and clean. We had a balcony with a table and chairs. We particularly liked the rich breakfast and the wine fridge in the hallway. We also had a wine tasting with a tour of the wine cellar. The employees were very friendly and tried hard. We would come again!

We had rooms directly opposite the campsites. These were very large, spacious. The bathrooms were modern. The breakfast was high quality and perfectly fine. The bread was very tasty. The only disadvantage: the rooms are very noisy. We'll be back.

Rooms are clean and more comfortable than expected. Bathroom is very clean and hygienic. There is a wine refrigerator in the hallway where you can take chilled wine out for a fee. Highly recommended, would come again at any time.

Unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable in the Schreieck guesthouse. The small room at the back of the house was very noisy. Below our room are the showers and toilets for the RV parking spaces directly next to the house. At 5:30 a.m. the slamming of the front doors woke us up. We also had a few complaints. For example, the toilet cistern only filled a drop at a time. It was not possible to go to the toilet in quick succession because it took about 40 minutes for the box to be filled again. A shower lip at the bottom of the shower door was missing, so half the bathroom was under water after showering. Unfortunately, we were not provided with a cleaning cloth when we asked. The TV crashed twice and stopped working even after unplugging it. The heater in the bathroom didn't work. Upon request, we were provided with an electric heater. Light bulbs in the ceiling lights in the bedroom and bathroom were broken. The bulb in the bathroom would be replaced the next day. The skylight in the bedroom wouldn't open. It also bothered us that we only found out from an employee at the wine shop that breakfast on Mondays does not take place in the guest house but in the neighboring hotel. Without the information we would have been standing in front of the locked breakfast room. We were then charged the full price for the 3 nights. Our question as to whether we could be accommodated in terms of price because of the inconvenience was only answered by the boss with a shake of his head. But he then said that he could give us two bottles of wine in return. We said goodbye with the words “We would be happy if you would visit our house again soon”.The in-house wine was of high quality and we enjoyed it.

The landlord is of the opinion that he can dispose of the rented premises as he wishes. If you don't want to freeze in the colder months, you shouldn't spend the night there, as heating seems to be forbidden there.Likewise, the landlord, almost like a defiant child, allows himself to be persuaded to simply turn off the electricity through a matter-of-fact confrontation about the grievances.

We were there for a weekend now. The Schreieck family was very hospitable. The breakfast was great. The room was clean and comfortably furnished. We'd love to come back. Even my 2 small dogs were welcome.Thank you, Schreieck family, and greetings from Kamp-Lintfort

It would have been great if at least one wall of our room hadn't been made of drywall and unfortunately the soundproofing of this wall had been neglected. Too bad. Otherwise five stars.
