A beautiful place to relax! Really lovingly renovated building. Everything very tasteful! We had a great holiday apartment with a window at the back facing the stream. With the window open you could hear the stream quietly rushing... Simply totally calming. The owner and the staff are extremely friendly. The breakfast (we treated ourselves to it despite staying in the apartment) is simply fantastic. Rich selection of sausages, cheese, muesli, jams, egg dishes of all kinds, fruits, tea and coffee to the limit 😉...There is also a beautiful outdoor area with a swimming pond and plenty of seating and lounging options. Just to relax 🤠!And there's plenty of world-class hiking nearby! The Rhön is simply beautiful 😉!We have rarely felt so comfortable and welcome! Therefore, definitely a 100% recommendation!

An unforgettable weekend in the heart of the RhönWe wandering hens, ten friends who spend a weekend together every year, were extremely lucky to “land” in the old provost’s office in Wechterswinkel in the Rhön. The provost's office was lovingly converted into a really great, stylish hostel, which made our stay something very special. The rooms are extremely tasteful, individually furnished and with a touch of style. You can feel in every corner of the house that the owners have put their heart and soul into this wonderful house. The breakfast was a real highlight - diverse, fresh and prepared with a lot of love. We were more than pampered with culinary delights and were able to start the day refreshed. Our hosts were incredibly friendly, open and helpful. We were provided with valuable tips in advance that enriched and simplified our stay.An absolute highlight was the tour of the house by the landlord, who explained the history of the building to us with exciting anecdotes. This personal touch rounded off our stay perfectly.Overall, our weekend in the old provost's office in Wechterswinkel was a real treat for all the senses. We can only warmly recommend this accommodation and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Very nicely restored rooms, some very old, some very modern but well combined. Giant garden certified as a natural garden with swimming pond. There are always small seminars, exhibitions or events. …

A wonderful place of peace and idyll! From the cobblestone courtyard to the historic building to our cozy holiday apartment - everything has an eerie charm. Many old furniture and furnishings are perfectly combined with modern amenities. Little things like fresh flowers in the room, a clever self-service drinks and snack bar, excellent restaurant and excursion tips confirm the impression of an excellently managed, very special accommodation. The breakfast with an incredible variety, freshness, regional and organic products could hardly be better. The warm warmth and attentiveness of the hostess, Ms. Müller, must also be mentioned. We had a wonderful stay, thank you very much!

The Probstei Wechterswinkel, embedded in the breathtaking landscape of the idyllic 200-person village of Wechterswinkel, is a charming listed building ensemble that has been renovated with great attention to detail. Despite the careful modernization, the building's historical charm has been retained, while the guest rooms and apartments shine with elegant interiors. The bathrooms are ultra-modern and the guest apartments even have practical, small kitchens. What makes the Probstei Wechterswinkel unique, however, are the exceptionally warm and friendly hosts - I have rarely encountered such warm hospitality. The breakfast here is overwhelming. We were asked in advance about our preferences and these were met in every way. As a muesli lover and fan of milk alternatives, I was served oat milk, and the general selection was simply terrific - delicious jams and local honey were just a few of the highlights. The nights here are incredibly relaxing; Through the open window you can only hear the gentle rushing of the neighboring small river. Thanks to the owners' clever foresight to install fly screens in front of the ground floor windows, you are spared from mosquitoes. My individual needs, such as a different pillow or an additional blanket, were easily addressed. Our desire to return here is great. We were so impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the hosts that we had to thank them with an additional tip. A stay in the Probstei Wechterswinkel is undoubtedly worth the trip.

The provost's office is an oasis of peace. The whole building has been restored with great taste. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfast buffet was extremely well stocked with regional products. What we particularly liked was the great attention to detail that you could discover in every corner. We spent three days there and would book again at any time. We can recommend the provost’s office without any reservations! Keep it up, thumbs up 👍🏻

I was at the Wechterswinkel Monastery for an event at the Meiningen State Theater. According to the district administrator, these were originally renovated. The ambience was great. A great room, you just feel comfortable and I was able to concentrate on the idea of the new season without being distracted by anything. After the event there was a barbecue in the monastery's inner courtyard. The bells rang just as you entered the courtyard. Festively set tables and the ambience of the farm... pure goosebumps. I will always come back to Wechterswinkel.
