We, my wife and I, spent 7 nights at the Pension Tannenhof. We liked it very much. We were very pleased to receive a warm welcome from the owner. We stayed in a double comfort room with around 23 square meters, which is completely sufficient. The interior is rustic, typical of the Harz region. The double bed measuring 1.80x2.00m even has an adjustable slatted frame for each mattress. You cover yourself with a feather duvet. A large built-in wardrobe even allows larger amounts of holiday luggage to disappear. 2 somewhat small chairs and 1 low glass table invite you to sit. The large balcony (1st floor) offers 2 seats with a large table and a beautiful view of the neighboring garden and the lake. (Prince Pond) There is also a small flat screen TV with a receiver. Unfortunately no clock or radio. The free WiFi is a little slower but stable. The bathroom is brand new and you could waltz there, it's that big. All rooms are sparkling clean and the towels, which are changed upon request, smell fresh and good. Breakfast is served between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The lady of the house is in charge there. Each guest gets their own sausage/cheese platter. Lovingly decorated with edible flowers and herbs. We didn't lack anything, we can refill upon request. The breakfast egg is available shaken, stirred or normal upon request 😉. Of course there are also various types of muesli, jams, quark or fresh milk. Every day the owner offers delicacies from the kitchen in the form of mini pancakes, salty/sweet cakes or raw vegetables. You can also ask for one or two tips. If you don't eat all of your breakfast, you can take the leftovers with you using the lunch bags provided. There is a parking space for the car at the house, which is also needed as there is no lunch or dinner in the guesthouse. The owner, who has a restaurant next to the guesthouse, is thinking about reintroducing the possibility of dining at lunchtime or in the evening, then only for house guests. There is probably a lack of staff and is of course also a question of calculation. If you want to eat, go to Clausthal Zellerfeld or Buntenbock. There are a few locations there. You can also shop well in Clausthal Zellerfeld, which can be reached in 5 minutes by car. If you want to shop, you'd rather go to Goslar, which is 30 minutes away, which is what we did. Numerous hiking trails start directly at the house. The Harz is ideal for hiking. Back to the house: There is a large garden with seating. Unfortunately, the already busy federal highway runs right past the house, so you should keep an eye on your children. Exiting from the parking lot onto the main road requires a sharp eye and a courageous foot on the accelerator. The cars rush past there at more than 70 kmh. There was almost no traffic in our room and there were only a few vehicles driving at night. The location of the guesthouse is a little out of the way and, apart from the traffic, it is very quiet. We were thrilled. Especially from the couple who run the guesthouse. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into looking after their guests. What are little things like a small TV screen or slow internet when people like Susanne and Michael make you feel that you are welcome and both want you to feel comfortable with them. That was the highlight of the house for us. Anything else would be whining on a high level. Dear Susanne, dear Michael, we felt very comfortable with you and were glad that we booked with you. We can recommend the Pension Tannenhof without reservation. Anyone expecting a luxury hotel is in the wrong place. At the Tannenhof it is the enthusiasm for customer service that you can feel and experience every day. You feel like you're at home. These are the basic requirements for a relaxing holiday. It's a shame that we had to go back to Erlangen, but we'll definitely come back. Lg.
