Stayed here for a couple of nights camping. Quiet, peaceful and in a lovely location. Family run campsite and amazing value for money! Clean and spacious bathrooms and washing facilities. (We were only going to Stay for one night, but booked a second night as it was so nice ). Thank you for having us :)

I don't know how I ended up at Camping 't Plathuis. I don't even recall what got me driving through Oost-Groningen in the first place. Generally the region does not impress, although Bourtange appeals to tourists through its 16th century fort, which is worth a visit.Anyways, at Camping 't Plathuis, there's an unassuming food service on friday and saturday nights. The setting is straightforward and unpretentious, catering to those who indulge in fried foods. No crispy chicken, artisanal-cut fries, and lightly battered onion rings, just fries, fricandels, croquets, the basics.During a recent visit, as I was halfway through the meal, an associate approached me with a warm smile and asked, "Is everything to your liking?" This question, though typical for fine dining, felt somewhat out of place at a casual camping ground diner known for its basic and inexpensive offerings. Yet, this unexpected inquiry prompted me to consider deeper implications:The question made me think about our own expectations of simple meals. It suggested that even simple, everyday offerings are made with an aim towards perfection. It reminded me that satisfaction can indeed come from simplicity, and that basic does not necessarily mean mediocre.Or maybe, by asking if everything was satisfactory, the associate was doing more than performing her duties; she was connecting with people on a personal level. This interaction showed that the diner values not just the act of serving food, but also the experience and satisfaction of its customers, emphasizing the importance of human connection in even the briefest of exchanges.The question served as a prompt to really focus on the humble meal and the moment. It invited everyone to be mindful of our current experience, to savor the food we were eating, and to appreciate the setting around us. This act of mindfulness elevated this minor dining experience, making us more aware and appreciative of the present moment.

Super friendly welcome, feels really homey. Nice spacious plots. Travelers cabins have enough room and have plenty of space between them.Comfort places have a nice secluded space.There's a small pond for water play and some playgrounds for the kids. Free use of kids bikes and pushcarts.

Beautiful natural surroundings, our pitch looked out over large lush green field and trees. Very friendly and laid back hosts, personal touch, feels like your local cafe. Facilities clean and in good order, other than the shower mixers which are terrible - very slow to respond to changes so scald and freeze experience

Lovely, friendly campsite with a motorhome area at the edge of a sunny field, by the canal. You can walk or cycle straight onto the canal towpath. Showers a little old fashioned but lots of hot water for 50c.A few minutes walk to the pretty, old village.

Absolutely recommended! Very nice family. They made us feel like home. everything was Clean , working and they have all that you need ( laundry and drying machine, fresh water and electricity connection, chemical toilet box and septic water disposals facilities, restaurant,etc) . We wish to go back soon
