I stayed here for 1 night whilst exploring the area. The hotel looked nicer in the photos. Its under renovation so maybe it will get better, its a lovely old building so hopefully it will be restored to former glory. The room was fine. …

We were very pleasantly surprised with the Southcliffe. Despite being at budget price the hotel was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Very well located and lovely staff. They are under going renovation and I think a fair amount of money needs spending to bring it up to standard - but once finished should be a super place to stay.

Expensive for a budget hotel. Very drab and run down exterior with scaffolding. Rooms cheaply and poorly decorated, damaged second-hand furniture. Tiny ensuite. …

Emily is an amazing manager approachable Helpful, kind and welcoming. Amelia was another member of staff who always had a big smile on her face that made you feel at home and at ease when you stayed at the hotel. …

A run down, decrepit hotel that is in dire need of an overhaul. It was undergoing renovation when I was there so maybe that is happening, but there was little sign of that on the inside! The location is excellent though and the frustrated staff were as helpful as thy could be with all the things going wrong in rooms... It was cheap, so you certainly get what you pay for.

The hotel needs renovation as it is old, but importantly for me, every room is spotlessly clean. Poor room equipment (few sockets in the room) Great service. Girls ‼️‼️ You're doing a really fantastic job 👌

Positives first: the location is amazing and the lady on reception (who also served the bar) was superb. But - oh my goodness my room was grim. Yes it was inexpensive but honestly the worst room I've ever stayed in. …
