The hotel was great - perfect location, plenty of helpful staff, beautiful room. We had coffees and drinks in the bar and all were very high quality and served perfectly. The rooms are great and very comfortable; the terrace is lovely and the location - a short walk to Westbourne Grove - ideal.

Such a great location. Quiet and away from the craziness of the city, but also just steps from the Tube and access to everything. Beautiful walks in the neighboring areas.||||Staff was helpful with recommendations for dining out, although the food was very good at the hotel, as well.

Very mixed feelings. Some things were great, others disappointing. Location is fantastic. Price is reasonable. I had a room on the first floor which is at street level and I would suggest avoiding that. The room had a funny smell from the air conditioning but was well sized. The bathroom was very good with a spacious shower. However, I did have a cleanliness issue with a long dark hair found in my bed when I arrived. No iron in the room which is less convenient for business travelers. My biggest complaint is the nighttime reception. I checked in late (after 2300) and had the same receptionist when I checked out 2 days later at 0500. He was clueless. Had no idea which chain the hotel belongs to or how to get Hyatt points for my stay (to be continued). Worse, I asked for a bottle of water when I arrived which he was happy to provide, but never mentioned a cost so I assumed it was complimentary as it is in most hotels I visit. I only noticed the 5 GBP (plus service!) when I checked out. Speaking of check out, I came to the desk and found nobody there at 0500. I said hello loudly several times, knocked on the desk, but to no avail. The hotel's laptops were just sitting there unattended. I had to go find this gentleman in the staff rest area. It then took him more than 10 minutes to check me out. By the time I noticed the rude charge for the bottle of water, I was already running late. I'd suggest some retraining for this individual. It really soured an otherwise good visit.

The hotel is very comfortable and quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Convenient location to the underground and bus stops, coffee shops, laundry and the Portobello Market. Took the underground right from the airport to Nottinghill Gate.

I recently stayed at The Laslett in Notting Hill, and I must say, it was a profoundly disappointing experience and ruined the start of our European holiday. For a hotel that markets itself as a boutique haven, it fails spectacularly on multiple fronts.First, we were notified of the Notting Hill Festival Carnival the day before arriving. Without knowing what kind of festival this was, I assumed it wouldn't impact our stay. It was a terrifying experience with a women stabbed the day prior near the hotel. The streets were hoarded up, the metro closed so we had to walk 5km to get back to the hotels (this after a 24-hour flight) and the rubbish everywhere was absolutely disgusting. There were bags of rubbished piled up just to the side of the entrance.Due to the area being closed off with no nearby restaurants operating, we brought back a meal to eat at the front of the hotel (again, this being after a 24-hour flight). We were told that we were not allowed to eat the meal as it was 'cross-contamination'?? After a very defensive conversation with the horrible staff, we ate our meal and retreated to the room as it was too dangerous being anywhere in the area. The room quality is very poor. Despite paying a premium rate, the room was terribly small, two large suitcases cannot fit. The décor, while attempting to be trendy, came off as a half-hearted attempt at modernity, leaving a lot to be desired in terms of comfort and style. The bathroom shower was so small, I could not wash my hair. The walls are all marked, the carpet is disgusting and the bed is hard.Service was another major letdown. Some of the staff seemed uninterested and disengaged, offering little in the way of assistance or hospitality. The Duty Manager I spoke with on our first night should not work in hospitality at all. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority here. Moreover, the price charged for such mediocre quality is outrageous. The Laslett is far from the luxurious escape it claims to be; instead, it’s a glaring example of style over substance. For the cost, you’d expect much better facilities, service, and overall value. At least someone to carry your bags from the door to the street! In summary, The Laslett is a classic case of a hotel that overpromise and underdelivers. Save your money and avoid this establishment if you’re looking for a boutique experience in Notting Hill.
