I booked 2 nights for friends online, i had some simple questions about parking and accessibility but couldn't get hold of anyone to answer my questions so i cancelled. I cancelled nearly 1 month before the cut off for a full 100% refund ( clearly stated in their contract when booking) . I then spent nearly 2 months calling, emailing, leaving voicemails to get my money back - they ignored every one.In the end I had to claim the money back via my bank.If my bank hadnt stepped in and help, this establishment would have stolen over £400 from me. I am writing to hopefully sway others and stop them doing the same to others

I stayed for 3 nights. The Sand Pebbles is a friendly family-run hotel in an excellent location a short walk from the sea and beach. It’s unfussy and dog-friendly although I didn’t have my dog with me on this trip would be happy to do so in the future. Good off-road parking.

Last minute find, after work for the day went bad and needed to stay over. Owners/staff so nice and helpful. Plenty of parking, comfortable and clean. Has a bar and what can i say about the food, all looked nice but the burger I had!! My god, massive and I'd probably say best I've had. CALL THEM TO BOOK YOU WILL SAVE!

For the price, I am disappointed with this hotel. Not updating the hotel and facilities being aged. Hard bed, no central heating to warm our room. We had to heat room up. On arrival, we had to wait a long wait for someone to come to reception telling us which room with key. Not good start marked our stay. Overall disappointing place to stay... We wished we stay in the same hotel the night before... Breakfast disappointing... Never stay again..

Sand Pebbles Hotel in Hope Cove, Devon is a friendly, warm and welcoming restaurant, cafe, bar and hotel. Ian and Emma are superb hosts. The food is brilliant, served in man sized portions, incredibly tasty and great value for money. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. There is ample free parking and the hotel is located just 200 yards from the beach. Most people rush headlong towards the other pub in Hope Cove and spend half of their day trying to park and waiting for a non existent table to become free. Those in the know visit the Sand Pebbles Hotel in Hope Cove. It has better parking, friendlier staff and great food at even better prices.I've been there 3 times now and have to rate it a solid 5 stars

Was expecting a little bit more considerinf the amount we paid for one night. Although the hotel staff were courteous and friendly our room (classed as a superior) had dirty sheets, peeling wallpaper. We had two chairs and a table on balcony and the views were good but unfortunately one of the chairs were broken so we couldn't sit outside in the glorious sunshine. Would definitely be back to Hope cove but unfortunately will give this hotel a miss.

The Sand Pebbles Hotel is located in the beautiful Hope Cove, a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The room was clean and what one would expect for the price. The proprietor was very nice (with a lovely dog!), he came through to the pool room to ask us if we would like any more drinks before he closed the bar. All said the experience was highly relaxing, and I would stay at the Sand Pebbles Hotel again.

Council flop house meets Basil Faulty. No greeting, no reception staff, just manky carpet, but we found a "chef" (by wondering into a dimly lit, sticky bar area with two dirty, damp but friendly border collies) in filthy clothes who may or may not have been the owner. We had pre-booked via booking dotcom, but he had no idea who we were. To be fair, he gave my partner the choice of two filthy, depressing, delapidated rooms, 14 and 16. We stayed in 14 and trust me, my feet never touched the ground. It was so dirty that I wore my shoes to bed! This is an OK room if you had worked your proverbials off all day on a building site and were willing to pay £50 a night B&B for a decent fry up. I can't be bothered to elaborate, but the owner is a cowboy and the place is a dive! You'd be better off sleeping rough on the beach. Do not stay here unless you are perhaps homeless or seeking asylum in this country. Oh, and avoid booking dot co m as they are simply a joke with no customer service. Please book decent places via tourist information unless you wanna pay 90 odd pounds for filth. Good luck to you!

Spent weekend 1st/3rd February at Sandpebbles. First impression when walking through the door wasn’t promising. Fold down table with bell on to ring for attention, obviously didn’t work as after ringing it about 5 times a lady who was wandering around spotted us and came over. She took us up to our room which was the ‘The King Room’ (which we paid extra for!) so we were hoping for something really nice! When we walked in it was like walking into a fridge. There was a convector heater only in the room which was turned off to which you would of thought would of been turned on as it was a very cold weekend and that they were expecting us. In the bathroom was a towel rail which also was turned off.The hand basin had a crack in it and on the wall above the rail was hair from the previous visitor. We went down to breakfast the next morning- the convecor heater on the landing couldn’t be plugged in as the plug was broken. We went to order our breakfast and the owner was in the most dirtest clothes you have ever seen to serve customers in - it was disgusting. We went out for the day leaving our heating on low to keep the room at a decent temperature but when we got back they had both been turned off at the plug so we had to start all over again. It made me so poorly that we didn’t go to breakfast on the Sunday we went to Torbay Hospital on our way home.Would we or would we recommend anyone stay here - NO

Get the Delorean as a stay here is like going back in time. Clean and everything functions as an old classic should. Patience with the plumbing is advised. I would not want to change a thing as a we all know a good tart up would hit the pocket book and let's face it a bargain is hard to find in this neck of the woods.
