Loved the peaceful, remote location - perfect for a quiet retreat. However, there are no nearby stores so come prepared. The rooms are a bit old, but the toilets were clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, which was a big plus. Overall a great stay for anyone looking to unwind in a tranquil setting.

We booked the whole Hostel to ourselves, a 31 strong Family Friends group ranging from two small babies to young sixties. Fabulous location, with stunning views, giving easy access to walks from Morwenstow, and a beach day in Bude. Has everything you need for a great self-catered holiday.

Great kitchen and bathroom space. Comfortable bed and linens. It indeed worth the value. The reception also provides continental breakfast (with additional fee).

This hostel is in the most perfect position with amazing views across the sea to Lundy island and fabulous walks in all directions. It is described as a bunk house but it is much better than that suggests. …

As a solo female hiker I cannot recommend this place highly enough, it’s clean and comfortable and the warden was delightful.|The little insight shop is very helpful, the showers are good and I slept really well . |I felt safe and content , it’s definitely worth staying when you’re walking the path ❤️

Perfect hostel! Spacious, beautiful location with great access to surrounding area. The team went above and beyond to make our stay happy and smooth, and after I left my favourite jacket by mistake they took extra care to return it to me. Very grateful. Thank you Elmscott!

Wonderful hostel! The volunteer wardens are very welcoming and friendly! The kitchen has all the equipment you could need and the hostel sells basics like pasta, milk and porridge oats (cash only). The sitting room is warm and cozy and the beds are clean and comfortable. Big thanks to the wardens and owners for making it such a great place to stay!

This is a lovely hostel. The self catering kitchen is a good size. The hostel is nice and clean. Plenty of parking. It's right in the middle of nowhere so if you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay. It's also the place to visit to see the Devon lanes especially in and around the Marsland nature reserve. They reminded me of the Holloway's you see in Dorset like Hell lane.

Rural location surrounded by wildlife and a short walk from the SWCP. Very good showers and a very well equipped kitchen. Our room wasn't huge but there was plenty of room to stow gear and the beds were clean and comfortable. Facilities are well maintained and the welcome was awesome. Highly recommend!!
