We stayed at this place, but left a day early due of the moldy smell and the unkept and run down condition of the entire establishment. Morgan was a very friendly guy and in it’s day Marine was probably very nice. With a LOT of work, the place could be awesome, but currently it is in a very tired state. I wish it had been a better experience.

My wife and I stayed here for one night and were allocated room 11. Lovely sea view but the stench of damp and decay was overpowering. Only one light bulb worked in the ceiling lights and the two bedside lamps were too dim to read by. The duvet was the thinnest least effective one I have ever experienced. When the heating came on it sounded as If we were surrounded by kettles that had just been switched on. The bed was so uncomfortable my wife couldn't sleep. The shower is a disgrace ... a prefab from the 60s. The window frame was so rotted I'm surprised the glass didn't fall out. The hotel looked as if it was at one point fabulous BUT now it is well past it's use by date and not fit for purpose. It was so bad we didn't even stay for breakfast. The host seemed a really decent chap though and I feel bad about leaving it one star but it's more than it deserves. My honest advice is don't go.

I recently stayed at this hotel by sheer chance after spending a horrendous night in the Balcomie Links Hotel in a room that my partner named ´´The bunker´´.We stumbled on the Marine Hotel and luckily they had a vacancy. Our room was absolutley huge with a fantastic seaview and very warm. The breakfast room is adorable with a baby piano, fireplace and lots of quirky antiques and the breakfast was fantastic. The manager Morgan and all the staff made us feel very welcome and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a happy stay in Crail. Good room prices and great food. Thankyou for saving my holiday in Crail.

I stayed here a few years ago and loved the position, overlooking the sea. Crail beach is gorgeous and the landlord is great fun!

Just back from my second visit in two weeks. Am considering moving in. Great fun. Morgan needs some quality time running wild between bellhops.

We've had a very funny time at the Marine Hotel. With Morgan and his team. My father and my brother had drunken some Scottish whiskey and danced at front of the house in a Scottish skirt(kilt) xDWe where there in 2013.From Germany and Poland.
