Greeted by the charming Spanish manager. The hotel was spotlessly clean, comfortable and homely. Good food and a magnificent setting right on the shore of the loch. Parking free and directly opposite the hotel. We intend to make a return in the near future. Highly recommended.

It was “ok”. The hotel has had an issue with their kitchen and mains water, so the menu was limited on breakfast and dinner. I haven’t listed lunch there, as I never got chance to have lunch. …

Absolutely stunning location. Lovely little hotel with really comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff. The attached restaurant was really nice with a good selection on the menu for an evening meal. The breakfast was very good, we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but could have had a full Scottish breakfast. It was all washed down with lashings of tea, coffee and toast

Beautiful hotel. Amazing service and stunning views to sea, booked the room when we arrived as it was too windy to camp and there were even spaces for our 3 bikes :)

Fantastic location with a super view across the loch. Unfortunately, management has changed and is all business without the legendary friendliness. Food much worse than it used to be.  …

What a stunning hotel in Sheildag. The kitchen in the main hotel was being refurbished but the hotel arranged for us to have dinner in the restaurant and pub next door (which was delicious). The rooms were super cosy with a very comfy bed. Breakfast in the morning was super delicious I would strongly recommend!

A real find by my wife. Glorious loch side setting in a unique Scottish village. Room had an amazing view, floorboards really creaked to warn of intruders! Although short staffed the service was good and food above expectations. Only minor neg is no TV or charging facility (phone not EV). A definite candidate for a return visit.
