Lovely local pub with a good village atmosphere, scrubbed tables and quite charming hostess and host. Good beer and excellent food - liver on the menu a rare and fabulous find. A very enjoyable evening. We were not staying so am only focussed on supper.

Arrived at lunchtime after getting soaked on a walk in the South Downs!Landlord Jim was extremely hospitable and told us not to worry about the muddy boots etc!The Guiness was fantastic and so was the food which included superb venison burgers. Will definitely visit again, thank you Jim and staff.

Nice pub, great staff but we were a bit disappointed with the food and the noisy bar. It was highly recommended to us so we were excited to go. The lady who served us who I presume was the owner was brilliant, as was the barman. …

Never been here but seeing how the owner replies to the negative reviews has made my night. They stand on business and preserve their reputation, and I highly respect that. I'll be sure to stop by and enjoy a meal someday when I visit the UK. Sincerely, a very entertained American.

Stayed here for a night in September for a friend’s wedding. We were made to feel very welcome from the outset and room 2 was a winner - clean, spacious with character. This is a 17th/18th century building so full of charm. Good selection of beer and fish direct from Billingsgate on our night in the village. Will be back for more fun when we can. Thanks for looking after us we had a great night. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
