Really nice country hotel and pub close to lots of decent walking and cycling on the South Downs. The room are very good value and comfortable. All the rooms have been modernised recently and are very well kept. The restaurant/ pub food is fantastic. Varied menu and anything from breakfast to mid-week evening dinner and Sunday lunch is always outstanding.

We requested a quiet de luxe double room with king size bed, but on arrival were shown to a double room with a double bed by the car park which we did not think was not what we requested or worth what we had paid. …

Chef Claudio is a fish genius. I had Sea Bream with a lobster bisque and my husband had Cod on a bean cassoulet from the specials menu. Both were top drawer.||We have stayed here before and were so impressed with this place.  …

This was our second visit. A lovely friendly welcome. Just had a snack in the bar in the evening, very nice. There were a couple of small issues with the room which we reported when we checked out, but certainly nothing to deter us returning on another occasion.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch today, it was priced at £20 which we thought was a little expensive, but the portion size and taste justified the price. However the pint of beer at over £7 was ridiculous. Service was great and friendly, and if you like fake flowers/plants then you in for a treat 😅

Really nice meal for 4 of us in the dining room Saturday night. Quite empty inside but lots of folk were eating in the outside area . Easy parking opposite. Tranquil village setting. We were with two people staying there and they rate the accommodation highly with some hilarity over the creaky floorboards .
