The attention to detail in this hotel is amazing. The old Victorian building has been transformed into a great hotel with lovely little touches all round.Water, chocolates, hot drink tray complete with marshmallow flumps welcomed us into a reasonable sized sea view double room with spacious en-suite. Very comfy bed and large TV on the wall to watch whilst in bed.Small bar area and lounge with a good selection on drinks including 2 draft beers - Brooklyn IPA and San Miguel. The breakfast was very impressive. Selection of cereals, tea, coffee, juices, cold meats and cheese, croissants, toast and a large cooked Welsh breakfast or omelette .Being on the north end of the Promenade very close to the pier, tramway, shops, bars and restaurants.

First time coming here with hubby. It's a lovely hotel with friendly/helpful staff. Rooms are lovely although there was a bit of mould on the wall by the wardrobe, room was clean with comfortable bed and pillows. We had a sea view room which had lovely views of the sea and the pier. There's plenty to choose at breakfast from cereals, pastries and a full Welsh breakfast. In the evening we sat in the little bar and had a drink which was nice has you get chatting to other guest's. My only thing I could say that would improve the hotel is to get a lift has I feel people with limited mobility would struggle with the flights of stairs and to improve mould situation in the room. Overall fantastic experience and will definitely be going back in the future. Photos were taken from our room.

Beachfront location with easy access to surrounding food. The rooms were a bit dated but very comfortable. The staff was excellent and extremely receptive to our needs. Breakfast is also included and delicious.

Stayed here previously many times but this was the first time since the hotel changed hands and I’m afraid it’s not great news. Young man on reception very friendly and helpful but the problems go deeper than hospitality. The shower had black mould around the tray seal and there was mould in the sealant around the wash basin. The bathroom refurb looks to have been done on the cheap with an ill-fitting and unsteady toilet seat and lid. Breakfast is poor compared to how it was previously, with a crowded dining area and a small, cramped self-service area, the bacon was very pink and under-done, poor quality sausages, my wife asked for a hard fried egg and got a runny one. Second morning I asked for scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and the amount of smoked salmon was miniscule plus there was a pile of fried mushrooms on the plate that weren’t on the menu and I didn’t ask for. Decided to try a croissant and it was stale and very solid. Sad to see our favourite little hotel in some decline, now starts the search for an alternative.

Room on top floor. No lift. Room very disappointing. Dirty, carpets hadn't been vacuumed on arrival or during 4 night stay. Bathroom tiny. Towel rail not attached to the wall until reported then stuck on. Lights bulbs out, replaced on request. Old bulbs left behind. Dirty, empty soap dispenser in bathroom. Told it would be filled but never happened. (Take it away as it was filthy and served no purpose.) Wallpaper torn and again lots of marks and stains. The list goes on so l would look elsewhere. Lots of good reviews on their website which made me think l was in the wrong hotel. Very, very disappointed.

We booked this as a last-minute break. When looking at the reviews, we thought great they have fab reviews, but to be honest, I'm unsure why they get 5 stars. We arrived and were welcomed by a lovely man who helped me to floor 2 with my suitcases as my partner was double parked. When we returned to the hotel a few hours later we noticed that it was not very clean especially 5 star clean. The lights were covered in dust, the pillows on the bed (scatter cushions were filthy, unsure how the cleaner missed that, there were marks on the wall and the bathroom panels were covered in dust and had people's spit marks where they were brushing there teeth, the toilet seat did not fit the toilet so everytime you sat down it moved and the shower heads looked like they needed bleaching. The bedding and pillows were spotless but not comfy. The most annoying thing was the radiator in our room had no valve on it, so you can't turn it off and on yourself so by 9pm our room was so hot and uncomfortable I had to go downstairs (2x floors) and ask them to turn it off then after a while as nothing happened I had to go down again. This heat was unbearable, eventually it went off, but we ended up sleeping with the window fully open all night due to the heat. We were woken at 4.30am with the squawking seagulls. The heating came back on bright and early again. The breakfast area was lovely, and there was plenty of choice when our breakfast came, although the presentation and the produce were fab it was luke warm. I don't like eating near cold food and the waiter disappeared without asking if everything was okay. On checking out, we rang the bell a few times, and no one was to be seen, so we left the key behind the desk and just left. We were disappointed with this hotel and wouldn't recommend it.

Great disappointment. At their booking site and in front of the hotel they claim "car parking" for residents. But at arrival there is no parking place available. In my eyes, this is a kind of fraud. The rest of the hotel is lower average....Update: At the second day, they gave us a parking space.
