We went as quite a large group for an early evening meal. As we had dogs staff asked us to sit in the bar rather than the restaurant that we had booked. They were very quick to change things to meet our needs. The menu was great with a good selection of meals starters and desserts. Most of our party were delighted with their meals apart from the only vegan in our group. That meal was rather bland compared to everything else. Staff were very friendly and good music was on throughout our visit. We also liked the outside areas.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable. We had requested a quiet room , I think it was No. 7, and it really was. The staff were friendly and helpful and food was good quality with generous portions. The hotel's reputation for Sunday roast is well deserved. Would definitely recommend.

I was amazed how beautiful this small hotel was. The food / staff were excellent. Rooms very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great nights sleep and could hear a pin drop. Breakfast was absolutely lovely made fresh on order. We only stayed one night but we really enjoyed it. Would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay at The Slate. The stairs were manageable. My room was very clean and well presented. A wonderful, comfy bed that on the first night gave me the best night sleep since a car accident years ago. Staff are very pleasant and focused on the well-being of guests. The breakfast was very tasty and the evening meal we had was perfectly cooked and delicious. Definitely recommended, and I hope to stay if I'm able to visit in the future.

Stayed for 2 nights on a visit to North Wales, site-seeing & thought it would be a cheap but comfy, centralised base in which to relax. I was wrong. …

An unassuming place from the outside but a friendly welcome and nicely done inside. The bedroom was good - nice bed, small ensuite but good shower, clean. We didn't have an evening meal but the full Welsh breakfast was very good. …

We visited for a meal and, while the restaurant was pleasant, we were disappointed with the food. The staff were friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. …

Superb Customer Service! We did not eat nor did we have a room, our experience was purely in the capacity of a Public House to have a drink. The staff were so friendly and could not be any more helpful. Next time we visit North wales we will certainly book a room and eat here. Thank you Chloe for your help and super friendly service.
