We have just returned from a four day break at Bodysgallen. Our Stay in a quirky spa cottage, provided us with all the comfort, privacy and peace we required, within easy reach of the main hotel. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. …

The hotel was quiet and so we got an upgrade to a suite of rooms. That was excellent, the rooms were great and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. The stairs are steep and you need to allow for that. …

We stayed one night in the garden cottage for a special occasion. The room location was amazing, private and with own garden. We loved walking around the grounds and woods. Inside the cottage was comfortable and spacious but it was very hot. It was a hot day and the storage heaters had been left on the night before. We struggled to cool the room down before sleep. The only other downside was the old fashioned and stuffy bar area where we frowned upon by Telegraph readers. It did not feel welcoming. Overall we had a nice time but wouldn't stay again for the price.

Beautiful small hotel. Accommodation and food excellent. Would rate this hotel as the second best, the first being Middlethorpe Hall also part of the National trust hotels. If you stay you will not be disappointed. The administration staff very helpful. Look forward to staying again next time we are in Wales.
