Shouldn't be classified as a hotel. A hostel at most. Horrible mattress, tiny double bed (maybe 120 cm wide). No room cleaning, so we ran out of toilet paper over the course of a week. Carpet flooring with stains. Doors slam shut. Saturday night was "a hoot" with doors slamming non-stop in what is essentially student accommodation.

This property has presented one of the most disappointing stays in over 10 years of travel. The good: The property is located 8 minutes walk from the Glasgow City Centre, has really nice communal facilities including study areas, a movie room, well equipped gym, and nice dorm rooms (with ensuites). The bad: From the moment my group walked in the door, it was obvious that the local management of hashtag was badly under-prepared to operate the property. The building itself is split into long-term university boarding accommodation which is well managed by a permanent front desk and reception. A number of rooms in the building are reserved for the Hashtag Hotel which is managed by a couple of blokes on a pop-up desk in the foyer, with keys and documents managed out of a cardboard box.On arrival, the group that I was in had to wait approximately 30 minutes for a staff member to come down and issue keys. When we received the keys, there wasn't any explanation of facilities, or after hours access which we had to figure out the hard way.The room was very dirty and hadn't been cleaned after the previous tenant. There were crumbs and dirty all over the desk and floor, and the bed linen hadn't been changed. There were blood stains on the pillow case, food and saliva stains on the mattress, and hair and dead skin throughout the bed. When I approached the staff member immediately after check-in, he said he would look into; he didn't.The next day, I approached a different staff member and he said they were waiting on fresh linen and would have some sent up to the room; he didn't.The next day, when I went down to talk to the staff again after someone told me the linen had come in, they said they had already run out, no offer to help, just basically fobbed me off. This happened to four other people travelling with me. The staff are friendly but basically don't care at all about anything other than handing you a key. I'm having to now go and pay to wash my own sheets at this joke of a property. If you want to sleep in other people pubic hair and blood, come stay at the Hashtag, otherwise do yourself a favour and stay at one of the less flashy, but far cleaner student accommodation blocks or AirBnB's nearby.#screwthecustomer

An okay place to maybe spend a night between travelling. Being a student accommodation for most part of the year, offers the basic such as shower and a bed. There are no facilities to make a hot drink in the room but there is hot water at the reception area with a choice of teas or coffee. On the plus, it has a gym where you can train n be happy😋
