Just had high tea, tasted great but definitely didn't eat £70 of food between 6 .... more cakes than actual sandwiches...cakes busted out a Asda packet or tescos lol definitely not home backed ..... I am a huge fan of the plough for dinners the food is braw but your high tea is a complete rip off.... did I mention we were told we got sausage rolls included but had to jump to Greg's to buy some !! 1 pot of tea between 6 folk ..... if It hadn't been mums birthday I'd have payed you £20 for the lot & refused full payment.... feel free to refund me happy to accept on mine & my sisters behalf.....

We were lost in the tangle of post industrial communities in Central Scotland and desperate for lunch when we came across ThePlough. It offered precisely what we wanted: a decent beer and a choice between a quick menu of very good quality and a diner's menu of variety, all at an attractive price and served without delay. Not pretentious, but none the worse for that.

My sister and I had a lovely festive menu meal today, spoiled by the attitude of a senior member of staff. Sandra the manager was checking us in for our meal and was commenting on how difficult it is to seat me. I am a disabled lady with a left leg fusion. She mumbled things like, ' don't know where we can put her', ' should have been clearer about seating required when booking made'.I have been disabled for ten years and am very specific about seating requirements. What I found really upsetting was that the comments were being made within hearing of other customers. This is not the first time I have been made to feel like this since I am a regular with friends from my slimming group every Tuesday. We feel we have to make a comment on this occasion because I felt discriminated and was made to feel that my disability is a nuisance rather than just another small issueI would appreciate management contact about this post.

We held a small afternoon lunch to celebrate a family 90th birthday in the function room upstairs. Nothing was too much trouble for Errin, Sandra and all the girls. Excellent food and superb service throughout the day. Highly recommend.

Popped in for pre-match drink (and buffet). Great staff managed a very busy bar. Sausage rolls and sandwiches were very nice.

Waitress was warm and welcoming. Well spaced tables with screens up. Food arrived quickly. Chips were excellent. Steak pie pastry was stodgy and didn't taste nice. Steak was tasty but lacked gravy. Veg was tasteless, possibly frozen. Chicken dish was lukewarm with possibly frozen chicken.
