My husband and I stayed last night as there was a Meet and Greet event on. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a meal which was tasty and delivered quickly. Good quick service. There was a great atmosphere at the event. Which was very enjoyable. Our room was basic and old fashioned but it was was very clean. We will not hesitate to book again . Thank you.

We have booked the lovely Woodside Hotel in May for 23 people to celebrate our wedding weekend. From the first moment we met John and Lis we felt that we have chosen the perfect hosts for the venue. John and Lis were very helpful to make sure that our wedding will be very special. Our family from Germany have enjoyed every single moment at this wonderful place. The rooms are very nice. The wedding ceremony was held in the fantastic clipper room. For the catering John recommended Chef Xen - it was a perfect choice! All together this made our wedding weekend at the Woodside Hotel Aberdour unforgettable for us.Thanks for everything! Roger & Jenny from Germany.

Hired the Hotel to celebrate 30 years in business. The venue was amazing and the fact we had the whole Hotel meant my guests could stay should they wish. Having use of the kitchen was perfect as the hot and cold buffet was made there. The owner John McTaggart was so helpful and such a lovely person. I will not hesitate in recomending this venue and would definitely book it again.First class.

My son and partner had booked the hotel for his 40th on Sunday 20 October. I just wanted to say to all the staff a big thank you for what you did. You dressed the table and chairs beautifully, very friendly and welcoming to us all. Could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and you all just made the day go splendidly. Would not hesitate in recommending you to others.

I went to the Woodside Hotel on Mother's Day with my wife, 2 children and my mum & dad. We had booked a table for High Tea. The service was prompt and friendly. We all ordered fish & chips for the main course and all thought it was very good. Next up was out tea, scones & cakes. All fresh and very tasty. I think it was £11.95 for each adult and the kids, under 5, ate for free. The restaurant is very nice as it was part of an old boat and moved to the hotel. All in all we had a very nice afternoon and an excellent High Tea.

Worst meal I have had in years. Took family here for a nice dinner out reviews seemed good overall. But man are they off.Service is non existent to say the least. Had to flag down a waiter for everything. Food quality and taste was sub par to not good and portions where not great for price. Further they cook my steak medium well when I had asked for on the medium rare. Wife only ate half her meal. Very poor overall.Ps you have an amazing room the dinning experience could be so much more on every level.

Apparently under new management. We booked a table for four. Have to say. None of us was impressed. We sat outside initially but had to go right back inside to get our own menus and drinks to fetch back out. We moved inside instead - less traipsing. There were probably only four tables being served including ours yet the service was pretty slow. Main chap serving was good but clearly stretched. The other two working with him looked like they'd rather have been somewhere else.Food was so-so. I had the fish and chips. Really small portion and more batter than fish. Didn't bother with dessert.Apparently the soup was good.Overall, average food, not great service, almost zero atmosphere.Don't see us going back somehow.

The Woodside (exclusive use) Hotel is such a gem of a find and great value for money. It’s really quite magical having an entire hotel to yourself. What the owners John and Elisabeth McTaggart have done by changing from a traditional hotel to an exclusive use venue (with 13 ensuite bedrooms) provides large groups of family and friends with a unique experience and the ability to make some very special memories.John the owner was very helpful and great to deal with. We booked 2 nights (October 2022) for our family weekend break and there was 21 of us. With ages ranging from 18 to 82 everyone was accommodated - from cosy fireside chats in the stunning Clipper room, to table tennis or watching a movie on the big screen in the Grant room (the Woodside can arrange bar service if you wish, but we really enjoyed the fact that it was just us there). There’s a lot of fun to be had serving your own drinks in the Clipper Bar and the younger members of our family particularly enjoyed listening to music and playing pool there. The Kelso room was where we had our evening meals and John put us in touch with Chef Xen from For Food Sake who did an amazing job catering for us at the hotel. All my family had a wonderful time at The Woodside hotel. Being able to spend quality time in such a beautiful place was precious and we will be booking again.

Mid-range, small-town hotel. The whole place has been recently, tastefully, decorated, and is clean and comfortable. The "Clipper" dining room is simply magnificent. Even if you can't stay, if you're passing, go in and see it, and read the history of the wood paneling.I was on a voucher deal, which included dinner from a limited version of the full menu. The full menu was very full and varied, but the limited one was perfectly adequate, and the food was good.Only complaint was the whole place was cool-ish, it being November.

The room was very small and bed even smaller. I am 6" and hubby is 6,4" so there was not much to do in a 6" long bed. Rooms are not as nice as they making out on website. Staff were very friendly but the breakfast was a disaster. Guest worked in the room and sat over 15 min until waiter came in to avoiding them, one lady been just missed out and not served the whole time we sat in the room. Think they should look into their quality of food also because for this kind of money you could do better with quality of products. Hotel should also provide key to guest to let them self in after coming back late so other guest not get woken up at 2am in morning with banging on hotel door to get back into hotel.
