This hostel is absolutely superb, the owner Ken is friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, large lockers for the bigger backpacks, free wireless internet in the lounge with a large screen TV (which was popular most evenings). The Hostel had its own Kitchen to cook my own meals with no restrictions l.Its location is in the heart of Carmarthen surrounded with beautiful nature and water reserves. Thank you Ken for making my stay a happy one!! See you soon!

Since I read some reviews, this is a hostel and not a Hilton. Here you find a warm hearted owner and clean rooms with common areas (living room and kitchen) in a very nice surrounding.Loved to stay here!

We went to a wedding just across the road in the Mansion House, so this hostel was convenient for us to bed down for the night. A warm welcome from the owner but I can't comment on the food because we were up and out early in the morning. Seems like a great place to stay for walkers and group activities so now we know it's there we'll probably be back!

Fabulous and unique hostel in a small rural village near Carmarthen. The hostel sleeps up to 50 and has a large bar area with draft beers & cider, jukebox, pool table (50p a game!) and dartboard. …

Very basic but a good place as I am walking the wales coast path. Ken allowed me to enter after hours so that I could rest my sore feet. Most hostels now appear to cater to groups and people traveling by car and not walkers but things have changed and that’s ok. We did eat at the bar which was ok but not great and we also had breakfast which was graciously provided by Ken at a reasonable price as it was put on for a group. Breakfast was basic but very good. I requested a different room for our second night as the room we had did smell a bit moldy and Ken accommodated this request. If you are not looking for 5 star accommodation and the price that goes with it then this hostel will work. Just don’t have to high expectations and you will be ok.

My Wife and I, and our twin boys stayed here 2 nights after a storm destroyed our tent. The host and his family were very welcoming, friendly and went out of there way to help us. The rooms were clean and warm, and the food was very tasty. Yes it’s not the Ritz but it isn’t that type of place. If we are ever in town again we will be popping by to say hello or staying 💯 thx again, hope to see you guys soon. Thx, Tim

Stayed here for a stag do. Absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Ken is a gentleman and helped us with taxis and anything else we needed. Big hearty breakfast set us up for the day too.

YOU ARRIVE A STRANGER AND LEAVE AS FAMILY.It's a HOSTEl so don't expect ensuite, modern decor, hypnos beds etc. What you get is a clean room, a lock on your door, space to hang your clothes, a mirror and window. Toilets and showers are on same level, clean shared kitchen (with sea views) equipped like home, dining table, 2 fridge freezers, pots pans and cutlery. Showers are warm. This is an old stone building so carpets, wallpaper are tired looking, but place is clean. Mexican decor and art are beautifully placed all over! Car park has plenty of space. Hosts are lovely and welcoming. The bar and kitchen open at 6pm and serve tasty fresh food. The pool table costs just 50p for a game. There's jukeboxes, dart board, cosy seating, music, great bunch of locals and holiday makers bring a friendly and dependable atmosphere to the place. The dog-friendly bar is well stocked, there are lots of seating under the Mexican hammocks and pieces of art. On a warm night, the outdoor seating area under the marquis with its fairy lights is a breath of fresh air. Have made lots of friends over the 2 nights there and although other bed and breakfasts or hotels may be swish, modern, with fancy carpet and beds, this place however has a warm heart, and the hosts and punters and guests are like family. At £45 for a twin bedroom (no breakfast), affordable drinks, and food available to buy at the bar, it won't break the bank. There are cheaper rooms or more costly chalets also available. If you want food, I recommend you place your order from the small menu as early as possible when the bar opens at 6pm. Some rooms may also have thin walls so you may hear noise from next door. Close by is Llansteffan beach estuary and Castle. There is no food delivery service that comes to the hostel but Camaerthen town is not a long drive away.
