Harbour Stays - Saundersfoot Harbour

We travel to Saundersfoot every year with around 30 family members in total, It is a very sentimental holiday for us all and we look forward to the annual trip. We booked number 9 ocean cabins @ the marine centre for two nights which cost £220 which we initially thought was a bit pricey, but booked nevertheless.We checked in around 8pm ish, due to travel time, and getting the key was easy enough despite there being no staff. Upon arrival at our room, there was a foul odour which I can only describe as a mixture of egg/cheese, making it impossible to stay in the room. The room was also very unhygienic, with hairs on the floor and bathroom sides, a loose screw on the floor, and the walls were covered in dirt / marks. The room did not represent what was shown online, and definitely not worth £110 a night given how basic it was, let alone the standards of hygiene!The smell was so foul and the lack of cleanliness meant that we chose not to stay there, and slept on a sofa in a family members room instead. We emailed the property directly around 9pm to state that we could not stay there, due to the reasons stated above.The following day after making an official complaint; we were told that we would not be refunded for the first night and that we could be refunded for the second night. This is despite us not using the room due to the poor hygiene and odour. We were told that had we rang the emergency number, (which we were not aware existed) a member of staff could have ‘done something to resolve the issue’. I questioned this and said I would not have wanted to stay there regardless due to the poor hygiene standards. We were then told that had we called the emergency number, they could have cancelled our booking, and re-let the property out to someone else. I again, questioned this and said that this would be very unlikely given the latest check in time was 10pm.We tried to reason with the staff however we were ultimately told it’s our own fault, despite the fact we should never have been given an unhygienic, smelly room in the first place. The staff member was also rude who spoke to us, and didn’t really address any of our concerns, but stated that ‘many people stay here and don’t have this issue’, however I can see a couple of other reviews addressing the poor hygiene standards! She gave us the impression that she didn’t really care nor had any real understanding on how this had effected us.Unfortunately it has ruined our holiday, and we are now (as it stands) £110 out of pocket. May I also add, this is the first review I have ever done and I am not normally a complainer. However I wanted others to be aware before booking. Stay well clear!

Booked this accommodation though Expedia though I was not given the checkin information to access the property even after supplying my ID and payed though Expedia. Accommodation responded the day after my travel date and said they had given this information to Expedia. Not having this access information prevented me from travelling. I requested a refund they told me I needed to speak to Expedia. Expedia has refused a refund after not giving me the access checkin instructions siting policy and regulations and hiding behind being a broker. I will now claim it back though my credit card or take them to court. BE WEARY!

These cabins are in a super location on the waterfront. Super easy beach access. The rooms are functional and ot large but great for a long weekend! All we heard were seagulls and the waves on the beach, fab x

Absolutely awesome place to spend the night. Had the sound of the sea through the window all night . Would definitely go back. The room was small but spotlessly clean and functional. No decaf tea or coffee and pillows were very hard but there's my only criticisms.

Great location and a nice clean room with a comfy bed. Self check in was great, no fuss. Would be good if they had allocated parking bays, as this was expensive.

Ideal location, accessibility on arrival 1st class, rooms warm, comfortable and clean, however probably due to the excessive rain there was a strong drain smell, we would return

The room is great. If there was a little fridge it would be even better.

Great location, rooms maybe a little small with little window to open, although the fan provided was welcome. Visited the local pubs and all were fantastic, took a walk to Wiseman's bridge which was gorgeous by the beach in the sun.

Mamgu, the new restaurant on Saundersfoot harbour. Well, it's new. The people there are pleasant and welcoming. They were very busy when I visited and there was a long wait for my meal but it was okay and they asked me no less than twice if everything was OK and thanked me for my patience.

Lovely 2 night stay in Ocean Cabin No 9. Checking didn't quite go to plan as key not in the lock box but dealt with by a lovely member of staff who was exiting the building. Excellent location, very clean, lovely fluffy towels. Yes basic, but exceeded our expectations for the price. Even when taking into account the additional cost of parking it was still good value for money.
