Start by saying that the staff are all really lovely and helpful. However I came on a Sunday night while traveling to work nearby and I spent most of the time walking from one venue to the next as lots of things were "closed as out of season". I ate at Aspects restaurant and even though the staff were lovely, the pace of the service was so slow. I have never been here "in season" however highly recommend to not attend "Out of season" I would stay in the Highlands hotel or not on any of these properties.

Rooms are great, service at breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. If something is missing, it takes forever for someone to take care of it. Service at dinner was top. However, there is the same side dish all week, otherwise the food is very good. It's the only hotel that takes bus guests

I will only speak from the needs as a tour guide.I have not been able to work with my laptop because there is no way to connect to the hotel wifi.It is not the same to be able to work with the laptop or to do it with the mobile phone. As a guide, I have to be permanently connected and I can't afford not to be able to work normally. In this case I could not do it. For the rest, the hotel is fantastic.Thank you so much...

Had a great weekend in Aviemore helped greatly by staying in the Morlich Hotel. The staff were excellent, from reception to dining room , cleaning 👌.. we ate in The Aspect restaurant for breakfast and evening meal. Great choices. Aviemore itself is a busy place with plenty to do. Spent a day on the " beach " at Loch Morlich . Lovely soft sand with great views and a hive of watersports. Tried a couple of bars in Aviemore. Very lively at times . Did the Aviemore Orbital walk and met many friendly people enroute. Visited the Wildlife Park which was also a good day out.

While the location of the hotel in such a charming town was a highlight, several issues significantly marred our experience. To start, I was traveling with my partner and my elderly mother and had to book two rooms for the three of us since there were no triple rooms available. Despite requesting rooms close to each other due to my mother's age and mobility concerns, we were assigned rooms five or six rooms apart. While I understand that room availability can be unpredictable, this was quite inconvenient for us.More concerning was the condition of the entrance to one of the rooms, which was pitch dark. This lack of lighting posed a safety hazard, and when I approached the reception staff about it, I was met with an unhelpful response, being told simply that there was nothing to be done at the moment and engineers will attend to it.Our disappointment continued the following morning at breakfast. We were informed that breakfast would begin at 7 AM, as indicated in the hotel's check-in documents. However, when we arrived at the buffet area in the adjacent building, a young server politely checked us off the guest list and offered us preferred seating. As we picked our food and walked back to our table, we were confronted by another staff member. This person, who seemed to be in charge, informed us that breakfast was not available to us until 7:30 AM and that the current breakfast service was for a tour group only. His demeanour was noticeably hostile, and he made us feel extremely unwelcome. Despite having already been checked in by the previous server, this staff member questioned us and made it clear that he did not want us there. Throughout our meal, he closely monitored our actions, glaring at us and walking around our table, making us feel as though we were under surveillance. This behaviour made us feel targeted and uncomfortable, and we couldn't help but feel that this treatment was due to our skin colour. This level of discrimination is unacceptable and deeply distressing, and it ruined our dining experience.Overall, our stay fell far short of our expectations, making it the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We will certainly choose another hotel for our next visit to the area and will not consider any Macdonald hotels or resorts anywhere in the world.I hope you will take these concerns seriously and address them to improve the experience for future guests.
