What a fantastic house! We stayed in January 2020 with a large group of friends and came back in July 2024 this time with 4 children in the group, and the house was perfect both times. Plenty of parking space, a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, shops and all amenities. Bus stops just outside the house if you rely on public transportation…We particularly appreciated the two high chairs available (a big difference when you travel with toddlers), boards games, a big pile of complimentary fire wood, and a very well equipped kitchen, with LOADS of everything. The house genuinely caters for large groups, and the utility room has a sink for all those dirty hiking boots.Rooms all comfortable and quiet and 4 shower rooms plus a separate toilet meant we never had to queue for the shower!Worth noting for those with restricted mobility, there is one downstairs bedroom with its own bathroom with walk-in shower. All other bedrooms are upstairs.Highly recommend and I won’t look for another place when staying in Aviemore with a bunch of people.

We had a great stay at The Shelter Stone for our large group of 12 adults plus a toddler. Great location right in the town centre and a really well stocked place. EV charger, plenty of parking, plenty of crockery and cooking things. Lovely house, well kept. Prompt communication from Rosie prior. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Family weekend away, fantastic location close to the center of Aviemore. Beautiful old house (lovely and warm)with everything and more than you could need! 12 of us stayed comfortably with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Rosie is a fantastic host and would definitely stay again.

The house is in an ideal location and is very well equipped. The kitchen contains everything you could want and has plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. All the rooms are nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The shower facilities are excellent. Despite being on the main road through Aviemore, it is very quiet. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed with a group of friends and 3 infants. House very welcoming, clean, recently modernised and had everything we needed. Especially appreciated the thought given to the children - high chairs, travel cots etc. Very handy location right in the centre of Aviemore. Rosie was very prompt at answering queries and providing information on our stay. Would highly recommend and we wouldn't hesitate to return again in future.

A party of 12 people stayed at the Shelter Stone for a long weekend during July 2023, and the accommodation was excellent. Lots of room, and Aviemore centre just a few minutes walk - I'd definitely recommend to friends and family.

Had a great stay at Shelter Stone. A big family gathering with 11 people. We were particularly impressed with the bedrooms and en suites, very spacious and well equipped.The location of the house is brilliant - so central to Aviemore high street. Plenty of parking.
