Stopped here for two nights mid July the location was pretty much where I wanted in that I wanted somewhere with dark skies (for night photography) and within reasonable travel distance of The Lakes. …

We had a fabulous one night stay, while walking to JOG. Lana had a meal (chicken casserole) prepared for us, delicious. Lots of veggies that we love. And my chocolate cake, so yum. Our room was large and comfy. Good shower and love the heated floor. Great drying rack available too. There is a guest lounge and fireplace too. So comfortable. Cooked breakfast available too. Highly recommend.

A great bnb in a quiet village. Check in from 2pm enabled a good rest after day's cycling on C2C. Lana cooked a very tasty evening meal for £9.50 (book this ahead). Lovely room and use of TV lounge with fire. Possibly my tastiest ever bnb breakfast. Thank you Lana 🚴

Fabulous to arrive cold and wet after a days cycling to this cosy B&B. Everything had been carefully considered, we even had complimentary dressing gowns. Real coffee in the room is always a big thumbs up too. Hot shower, comfy bed, electric blanket and fabulous breakfast. If you’re doing the C2C cycle route, don’t bypass Eastview and Garrigill, it’s worth the push up the hill the next morning!

Absolutely wonderful b&b with marvelous hosts, Lana and Phil. They think of your every need and the property is fantastic. They also made us a very tasty evening meal. They had a garage for our bikes and a heated drying rack for our clothes. An excellent stop for anyone doing the C2C, or walking the Pennine Way.

Thanks so much for a wonderful meal. You went out of your way to give us a hearty meal after we advised we would be arriving late. Also a big thank you for helping us get to Alston bus stop in the morning after picking up an injury.

We stayed here for one night to break a long drive from N Aberdeenshire to Hampshire. Lovely small village location. The B&B is a lovely, old building with bags of character and beautifully decorated and furnished. The bedrooms are excellent and the rainfall shower in room 3 was tremendous. The bed was comfortable, a firm mattress if that’s what you like, and we slept well. Some of the in room touches were really well thought out, a small bottle of milk in the fridge, ear plugs. Just really nice touches. The owner, sorry I’ve forgotten her name, was a lovely lady, friendly and helpful who cooks the most marvellous full English .Really excellent and worthy of a stay if you’re looking for somewhere in the area.
