Very friendly and helpfulStaff team.Location was excellent for access to the tube and sightseeing.Room was a good size, and clean on arrival though air con needs cleaned as it was very dusty and lead to a lot of dust being deposited on all the surfaces. Bathroom door lock needs fixed/replaced it kept jamming - lock barrel wouldn’t retract back at times.Would definitely stay againThanks Sonder team

We had a great stay at the Gilbert. Our room was lovely and clean. The bed was very comfy. Bathroom was clean and we had everything what we needed. Staff was always welcoming. The location is brilliant and we will def come back again. The lockers down in the basement are a great touch as we had a chance to explore London for a bit longer without dragging our luggage with us.

Very nice, good location, pleasant stay.
Why only 4 stars? Bed could be more comfortable, when people are making noise in hallway it’s like they’re in your room, the shower looked a little bit worn out which surprised me considering the new look and feel of the place.

Very good location, quiet street, nice surroundings. Everything you need for a few days in London is there. But: The supply of hot water seems to be very limited. I spent three nights there, every morning the water remained cold, even if you let the water run for a very long time.

Very disappointing experience. Location was great.Room extremely small and not what was shown on line. Dark, small and not practical. To boil the kettle I had to use the bed side table. Sink in bathroom constantly overflowed. Has to ask numerous times for clean towels and they never took old towels away. Staff so unfriendly that every question had to go through the app. They didn’t want to be there. Never again

We stayed at Sonder The Gilbert during October 2024 and found the whole experience to be comfortable and convenient.The room was available at the allotted time and was clean and comfortable, particularly the bed. There were ample provisions that could be collected from the stylish lobby and the hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from Gloucester Road tube station, the area being well served with restaurants and shops, with the museums, Kensington Gardens, and the Royal Albert Hall all being within walking distance.

After reading some reviews, I was little bit concerned, how good will be my experience and afraid that the pictures are much better then the reality, but everything was perfect, unless an issue the last day with the shower, I could not get the water warm, also be aware that there is no cleaning service during the stay unless you ask for, still great experience, nice place and amazing location

The only problem was that the jar containing the coffee capsules was vacuum sealed and wouldn’t open, so I had to go down to reception to take a spare coffee capsule. Otherwise I had another great stay The Gilbert.

Overall it was a pleasant experience with some pros and cons. The hotel's central location is a major plus—easy access to Kensington attractions, shops, and public transport, making it very convenient for sightseeing.The room was clean and the beds are particularly comfortable with soft cushions, ensuring a good night's sleep. I appreciated being able to open the window slightly for fresh air, though it would have been better if they allowed it to open wider, especially given the limited ventilation in the bathroom.Speaking of the bathroom, it's quite small and lacks proper ventilation, which was a bit of an issue. The shower being attached to the wall wasn’t the most convenient either.In summary, a good stay in a great location, but improvements in bathroom design and ventilation would make a big difference.

Intimate hotel, double room suitable for couples, comfortable bed! There is a hairdryer, coffee maker, kettle, iron and ironing board. Nearby access to the subway, quiet and not very noisy neighborhood, the only flaw is that the windows do not open completely and the bed was not made for the second night (we stayed 2 nights). For the rest, online check-in is convenient which saves you from wasting time at the entrance and the Key pass to enter the room!

Nice little hotel with great value for money. The room was small, but seemed very new and was clean. I was really pleased with the ironing board and iron that was available because I could put them to good use. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews for this hotel. Of course it is warm in summer without air conditioning, but you can see that when booking. So anyone who books without air conditioning and then gives a bad rating because it is hot is not fair in my opinion. The location is very good and the staff at reception 24/7 are very friendly. Only the check-in process was a bit complicated.

The Hotel was alright all in all. We stayed for almost a week in August, and I wish I had read the other reviews, because the room was simply unbearably hot, the window only opening a tiny bit. No AC either, only a traditional fan which we had on 24/7 in order to be able to breathe. The shower was very small, and the showerhead was fixed and could not be taken off or adjusted, which made showering very difficult. On the pro side, the room was clean, the location convenient between two subway stations. Supermarkets and Pubs were all in walking distance. Although we couldn’t buy anything that needed cooling, since there was no fridge in the room. There was little interaction with the employees at the front desk, only at the day of our departure we asked them to store our luggage, which was no problem and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed for 4 days, the room is spacious and has everything we need to be very comfortable. With a small bathroom (with gel and shampoo), inside the room.They offer water and coffee capsules so you can make it in the hotel hall.They gave us free lockers to leave our backpacks both before check-in and after check-out.The hotel is located near the Chelsea neighborhood, a quiet and residential area, and at the same time close to several tube entrances, and a 30-minute walk from the center of London.

Overpriced for what you get. I chose this hotel because the rooms look big on Booking. In reality, you get a relatively small room.(Photos are from a Double-sized Bedroom)- Thinly soundproof, not quiet (the windows are not soundproof. Even though my room was on the second floor, I could still hear people talking on the street after midnight. Loud cars also often drove past. It sounded like the windows were open. I normally have no problem sleeping with earplugs. But in this hotel I kept waking up. I also kept waking up when someone in the next room closed the door.)- no air conditioning (when I was there, it was about 20° during the day. The heat was acceptable)- no room service included. (You have to pay an additional £5 per day for the room to be cleaned. You also have to get toilet paper yourself from the hotel lobby if it runs out. Unacceptable for the price of the room.)- Cannot open windows fully, only for about 10cms.- No option for breakfast- The sockets next to the bed are constantly buzzing.- The shower head cannot be removed. Takes about 30 seconds to set the right temperature.- No light switch next to the bed. (When you're lying in bed, you have to get up to turn off the light at the entrance.)
