The apartment we booked of theirs via Airbnb (apartment is listed as being under Altido, but communications were from "Joivy Scotland") had heavy glass wardrobe doors completely off their hinges and leaning unsafely towards the bedroom door when we arrived. When we told Joivy about this they said there was nothing they could do about it that day, and that we should deal with it ourselves. They never apologised, acknowledged that this wasn't ok, or offered any other alternative, including flatly refusing any possibility of any refund. Communication was extremely poor, taking hours to respond to messages, getting our names wrong, and with us apparently speaking to different people each time.We eventually got a refund by contacting Airbnb directly, but only after Joivy apparently had intially told Airbnb they'd try to find us alternative accommodation and then hours later admitted they didn't have anywhere else to offer us after all.Based on their aggressive upselling of associated services prior to us checking in, and then their response to this situation after check in, I'd say this company is only interested in milking potential customers for cash and has no interest in the safety, comfort or happiness of their customers once they've gotten their money. This impression also seems to be corroborated by the many other negative reviews for Altido and Joivy on Google, which I wish I'd checked before booking and saved ourselves the headache and the wasted time and energy.

This review is specific to the Forth Suite at 47a George Street in Edinburgh Scotland currently managed by Joivy Scotland who provided the worst customer service ever! They offered a partial refund that I accepted but it took a month of escalations by my for them to process what they offered. I will never knowingly rent a property managed by Joivy (formerly Altido Scotland) again.While George Street was a great central location for our 5 days in Edinburgh, in addition to the specific issues with the apartment below, it is located across the street from an event space that often has parties going well into the wee hours and the single-pane windows offer no soundproofing.Below is the email I sent them detailing specific issues. Somebody entered the apartment without any notice or request for permission one day to leave coffee pods, but the following day to address real safety issues, Joivy said they couldn't enter without permission. It's when I informed them that somebody had already entered without contacting me that the offer of a small partial refund was made. It took a month of escalations from me for them to process the refund they offered.***There are disappointments about the condition of certain items in the apartment and the supplies not provided. Below is feedback. As I booked thru Marriott Homes and Villas which sets the expectation for a certain standard, I will also provide this feedback to them.After not being provided with the key codes prior to arrival I had to call for information - fortunately the person who was supposed to meet us and orient us to the flat arrived while I was on the phone with you. However, it was apparent that she’d never been in the flat and could not orient us. Her only purpose was to let us in and share a screen shot of the codes.1. The house manual directions assume that your clients are from the UK, but as Americans we are not familiar with the buttons and controls on the radiators or oven and had a difficult time navigating heating and cooking. And the oven is not secured in the wall, simply opening the door causes it to move from the wall opening.2. The shower doors in the second bathroom don’t close completely causing water to spray onto the floor. Fortunately the shower mat provided helped. However there was no shower mat provided in the primary bathroom causing us to have to use one of the bath towels to dry the floor.3. There are no washcloths provided for the bathrooms and only one kitchen towel, no paper towels or napkins.4. We have been unable to locate Nespresso vertuo pods in either M&S or Sainsburys rendering that machine disappointingly useless.5. The floor thermostat for the secondary bathroom does not come on. The screen is blank so there is no floor heater. Conversely the towel heater is always on and dangerously hot. We cannot figure out how to control it.6. There are very few kitchen dishes including only 3 water glasses.7. The lack of curtains in the 2nd bedroom allow street light and noise and there are dangerously loose floorboards under the carpet.8. The bed in the primary bedroom is on wheels on a wood floor — just sitting on the bed makes it move around.10. Tonight the WiFi stopped working while using the smart hub. The TV displayed a message to restart the router but we’re not touching the router so now have no WiFi.

Altido has rental apartments like Airbnb, but you can do it directly with them. I stayed at 53 George ST. Very nice, very good size and well prepared to receive guests. The location is perfect. everything is new.I just think it's a little noisy because downstairs there is a bar that has loud music until late and VERY IMPORTANTLY IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ELEVATOR, so you have to carry your suitcases. That should be warned.The other thing they should solve better is that they make you go to pick up and leave the keys at their offices, which is a bit cumbersome.But it is undoubtedly an excellent option.

We had many problems with the apartment. From appliances not working, the place stank on arrival as a wet towel was left in the washing machine which was going mouldy. The shower was so small a normal sized human cant fit in it and water floods the whole floor. The cleanliness is a lot to be desired, the oven was left filthy could not be used. When we complained all that happened was someone came round agreed the shower was too small.The third bedroom is a cupboard with no windows, even Harry Potter had a bigger room. We have been informed that this is a serious fire hazard, as there is no escape incase of fire.We will not be using Altido again and I would advise all not to use them.So many other places to stay at a much better rate.

Shower floods immediately and no one from Altido Italy responded to our requests for help. They provide no personal person to contact except a long distance Contact number! They leave a “guide” manual that only provides legal ease about their fines for damage, etc. not hospitable at all!

Disclaimer: this review is based on my preference for vacation stays.Would I recommend? No, only if your're staying for less than 5 nights# of nights stayed: 12Room: Edinburgh Suite (3 bed room apartment)What I like:1. Location is perfect, 10/102. The apartment is generally well equipped, and has a smart tv in every room 7/10What I wish I knew:1. There is no daily cleaning service, they mention in their website " hotel like hospitality service" when it's nothing like a hotel, more like airbnb apartment. They don't mention that in their website. Obviously, shampoos and shower gels will be only enough for 1-2 nights. When contacting customer service they said they only offer in stay cleaning service for £135 a visit! Almost 50% of one night cost. They do not offer discount for staying long nights or at least provide weekly cleaning.2. Customer service do not respond, contated them for early check in, they did not respond3. There is no lobby (or reception) and there is no elevator, which they do not mention clearly in the website. When we arrived with our 7 bags at 11 am, I had to call them to get in, intially they refused but told them we had 7 bags and there is no way we will walk with them, they agreed we put them in the aisle. The stairs are pretty uncomfortable, and we had to carry 4 large bags and 3 carry ons up on that.3. Internet was extremely slow or not working in the last 3-4 days, couldn't watch anything, also there is no extender as mentioned in the manual.Minor issues:1. Small bugs in the bathroom, you have to run the water everytime you take a shower as around 20 of them appear daily2. The building is unkept, the stairs are very dirty without cleaning3. Sinks in the bathroom are way too small, water will drop everywhere when washing

Terribly noisy until 4 AM due to nightclub directly across the street. Canceled our reservation for December ---unless you are deaf, avoid this one ! Beautiful but poorly designed bathrooms. Walkup stairway dirty and lacking handrails. Replace the windows and MAYBE the noise factor would improve.

awful experience, tested positive for covid one day before travelling and they wouldnt reimburse me, not one of 7 nights. inexplicable and also illegal behaviour on Altidos part. I am persuing a refund through my bank. Dont trust these people, Crooks.
