The guest house was clean and quiet. The neighborhood is very safe and walkable. The linens and beds were very comfortable. It was a 35 walk to the Royal mile but we didn’t mind when the weather was nice. The only thing I would change is to have breakfast. It would be nice to have something even it was light.

Beautiful small but very clean and quiet rooms with everything you might need: blowdryer, shampoo, bottled water, small cattle for tea&coffee to brew in your room.A small deli is right across the street. Bus stops to the City are nearby (5 min walk).We can wholheartedly recommend the guest house and its very kind hosts =)

It was our first trip to Edinburg and Kate absolutely made our trip better and easier! First, she welcomed us very warmly and gives us lots of advices-great places to eat, drink.. also room was amazingly clean and tidy which I usually say this hardly. Will definitely recommend and come here again. Thank you again Highfield!

We spent part of our honeymoon here. The hostess is very friendly and gives you an overview of the city when you arrive and how best to get into the city using public transport.When she found out that we were on our honeymoon, we also found a little surprise in our room. We forgot to put our money away. When we returned it was still there, but the room had been completely cleaned. You can definitely feel safe and comfortable here.The only negative point: unfortunately there is no parking space, but you can usually find a parking space right around the corner.

such a lovely warm welcome, first time to edinburgh and Kate was super helpful with giving advice on where to catch the bus, how to get to the centre and other places worth seeing. came up for my 20th birthday and found a bag of gifts outside my door, and my room was upgraded from a single (which i paid for) to a double with en suite. could not be happier with what i received ❤️

A real gem of a find. We had such a lovely stay here last weekend. The woman who checked us it's name escapes me but she was absolutely stellar going above and beyond drawing us out a map and making sure we knew all info about transportation etc. Location is about a 20 minute walk from center but omg neighborhood is charming and quiet. It's also super easy to access the local bus going into town and the walk around the block is nice (those houses are just GORGEOUS) the room was super comfy and had everything we needed. Would 100%stay here again and highly recommend

It was a perfect location to stay. Very clean and close to the city centre. Lovely lady who told us everything we needed to know about the room and the city at our arrival. Everything you could possibly need was present in the room.

Stayed with my son as we were visiting the University. Great location for the Kings buildings. Very comfortable room, easy and friendly communication with the owner..we arrived outside of normal hours. Lovely breakfast that really set us up for the day.

Lovely stay. Princess room. We talked thru whatsapp because my check in was late at night and they had everything ready. The owners are really nice, helpful and polite. The breakfast is excellent. They put some food in a bag for me the day I had an early tour in Scotland because I wasn’t there for breakfast. Quite and safe area. A lot of options with bus straigh to the center. Warm room, 100% clean bathroom, some tea and chocolates in the room. It was perfect. I would repeat, a great experience for my trip alone in Scotland.
