I had the opportunity to stay several nights at Heronfield recently. I had been visiting the Orkney Islands and touring Scotland and then was spending some time on Skye. By far my favorite accomodation of my trip was Heronfield. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was a short walk from downtown Portree. But the best part of my stay was Alyce, the host. She made us feel welcome in her home, she had great advice about seeing and experiencing the Isle of Skye, good recommendations for restaurants, but most of all, just warmth and kindness that one doesn't expect. This place is a treat that should not be missed by anyone visiting Skye.

We were here for 3 nights, we had the room with an outside bathroom which was not bad, but we would have preferred the bathroom in the room. The views from the room are very beautiful. They don't serve breakfast so you have to go to Portree and it's a 15/20 minute walk (if it rains it's not very pleasant). Everything was very clean, both the bathroom and the rooms and facilities. Alice the host is very friendly and helps in every way possible.

Cleanliness and comfort of 10. Allice is an exceptional host. He informed us about places of interest, as well as restaurants, and it was great for us. We stayed in a room with the bathroom outside, but it didn't matter to us because in addition to the towels, we had bathrobes and slippers to go back to the room. The bathroom is next to the room. There is an area with two tables, cutlery, plates and a refrigerator if you want to eat or have breakfast there.We have had a great time at Allice's house and we 100℅ recommend this accommodation.Goodbye Allice.

Alice is a great host and has been running the Heronfield for a year. The accommodation is nice, quiet, very clean and is a 15-20 minute walk from the town center. The views from the rooms at the front can't be beat!Please note that breakfast is no longer offered, but there is a lounge with a refrigerator where you can take care of yourself. Coffee/tea maker is in the room. Alice is very friendly and loves her job and had lots of tips for us. Keep it up!

We stayed in the en-suite sea view room at Heronfield for our visit to the Isle of Skye. It was a beautiful, comfortable and clean room to come back to after running the Isle of Skye half marathon and Alyce was a fantastic host, even helping us with some much needed food recommendations for before and after! We would highly recommend Heronfield to anyone wanting to explore the Isle of Skye from Portree.

Just about a ten minute walk from the center of portree, sits the tastefully decorated, comfortable Heronfield B&B. Our host Alice, could not have been more accomodating and helpful. While breakfast is not served, there is a shared area with a refridgerator for guests to provide their own. A great experience and thank you Alice!

We stayed at heronfield for two nights in may 2024. We had the room at top of the stairs on the left. Room was excellent; magnificient view of the water and town! bathroom was huge with a nice walkin shower.

Can't recommend enough. Alice is super welcoming and friendly. Rooms have been tastefully renovated and have brand new bathroom fixtures as well. Easy and pleasant 10-15 min walk into the town centre. Quite possibly the best view in Portree from the bedroom windows.

Excellent room with a fantastic view. Bed sleeps wonderfully. You can walk to Portree for breakfast or dinner. There is a folder in the room with all kinds of information and Alice can also give you good tips and advice. We enjoyed!

My partner and I stayed with Alice this week and were so welcomed before even stepping foot in the door - we called to book and she told us she’d put the heat on in our room ready for our arrival after a very soggy two day trek. She gave great tips in the guestbook which we followed and were thrilled we did, the room was well equipped and perfectly clean.Will definitely stay again next time we visit Skye, thank you!
