We were on Skye in midsummer and needed an overnight stay due to a breakdown - which was actually hopeless. But there was another room here! …

Dirty place, bad smell (don't know if the dog in the director's office or the same director). One day the director decided to take our things and brought it in another room whithout any advice and respect. Too expensive for the horrible service. Avoid from here!!!

We arrived at the Caladh, which is 6 miles north of Portree. Signs visible, easy to find - GPS works if you use Waze or Google Maps. It is a little pricey for what is offered compared with other b&bs, but it's all about location. …

I was almost scared off of this place due to the horror stories in other reviews. However I found that the lodging was easy to locate (with road signage) and overall a decent budget value considering the location and the season. My main complaint is that they cook the breakfasts one at a time which is a bit of a drag for a couple.

Entering the building you are confronted with a very cheap looking environment but after the initial impact one warms to this guesthouse. …
