Christie and Kirsteen created an incredibly tasteful, thoughtful, warm and creative cottage with strong Scottish reminders.The moment we stepped inside we felt the loving energy that was put into this incredible Isle of Skye experience! The highland cow pillows and decos, the red deer cups and decos, the book shelf of Scottish history and interesting reads (unfortunately I didn't get through them but flicked through a number that helped connect you to the strong history, determination, dedication, resilience, passion and internal fortitude of the Scots!The bed was so comfy with a light but warm doona and we slept so well. Sitting area made the most of the fabulous view of mountain, loch and forest and the changing colours based on time of day. The lambs, cows and chooks we saw each day added a special farm feel that we loved!The shower was strong and warm with a generous sized bathroom.The practical and wonder packed kitchen was equipped with every appliance and vessel you may need and more .....AND the surprise CARE PACK was so helpful as we had delicious fresh farm eggs, from the chooks we enjoyed watching, every evening for dinner, greatly appreciated and we thanked Christie and the chooks for their generosity. The kitchen bin was large and a great Change from the usual ones that require changing every 5 minutes.We were within 40 mins drive to all things we wanted to see and there was a beautiful bluebell walk from the Cottage to Columbus island that we enjoyed too which allowed us to chat to the animals as we walked down the road to the start of the woodland walk to the loch's edge.The Skeabost Hotel and Restaurant, within walking distance, was a gastronomic delight and again, Nicola and all staff, escalated the joy of the entire experience.Overall we rated our Skeabost, 1 Glen Bernisdale experience as 10/10!! Where do I even start?! It’s fantastic location and it has absolutely gorgeous views everywhere you look!! My partner and I stayed here for his birthday and we couldn’t have found a better spot to stay! The big king bed was so comfortable that it took a while just to get out of it in the morning. Kitchen is big, with absolutely everything what you need and toilet is great as well!! Balcony and the views are just like you are in the paradise! That definitely topped it all off!Location is amazing, just 10min from Portee and parking is large and just in front of accommodation.Owner is really lovely, he will let you know anything what you ask and give you a good tips. He prepare fresh eggs and bottle of prosecco for us as well!Overall, this stay was unreal. I have already recommended the Riverside to everyone I know and we will definitely be back soon!!
