We had a fantastic stay. The B&B is renovated, very nicely equipped and is only 500m from the water and a small pub. The hosts looked after us wonderfully and the omelette is an insider tip 😉 Overall, a wonderful starting point for exploring Skye.

We stayed at Rowenbank B & B for four nights. The hosts, Angie and Gordon, also live at this property. There are three double bedrooms upstairs for the guests and one bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs which are shared by all guests and the hosts. There is no shower head in the bathroom so if you have long hair like myself you need to use the shower room down stairs. It is a small shower room so you cannot easily hang your wash bag, towel and change of clothes all at once. Luckily, Angie was able to lend me a fleece poncho to wear after the shower. As you come out of the shower room you go through the kitchen while hosts might be having their dinner or watching TV, which can be awkward. The B & B itself is located in a beautiful area with few minutes walk from the lovely Eilean Iarmain Hotel and the Bay at Isle Ornsay. Rooms are basic and there was no TV. We have two suggestions to improve the experience of their guests. One is to ask your guests if they like any service of the rooms if they are staying longer than one night. Our bin was never emptied and the hospitality tray was not cleaned or replenished with tea/coffee throughout our four nights stay. We Had to ask for clean mugs or clean ourselves for a few times. As the bathrooms and shower room are shared and do not seem to be serviced daily, providing disinfectants for guests to clean after using the bathrooms would be a nice way to address any hygiene concerns. We would recommend this B&B for a very short stay if you are on a tight budget and do not mind sharing bathrooms with other guests and two hosts.

It is not easy finding a place to stay on Skye in July, but was lucky to contact Rowanbank directly off Google Maps. It was the best accommodation and experience overall that we had in Scotland. Thanks to our friendly hosts Angie and Gordon, who went the extra mile for us.

You will never get an experience like in this B&B with Angela and Gordon. Our view from the room was of the sheep grazing in the meadow. I fell in love instantly.We were allowed to go on Gordon's boat, so that my husband could fish.And brought in quite a few mackerel.The breakfast was very well prepared and nothing was too much. Tasted incredibly good. And the view of Gordon's boat was perfect.I recommend everyone if you are on the Isle of Skye to spend the nights here. You won't get an experience like this easily.Thanks Angela and Gordon for the time in your beautiful home.

4th time visiting Skye and 1st time in this absolute Gem of a B+B. The friendliest hosts, nothing was too much for Angie and Gordon, we had such a good time with them, being educated in Bar Billiards!!Breakfast is superb, it's very filling and the choice is excellent with a view to match! The room was great, a comfy bed, plenty of space to hang up clothing and lots of charging points.You can come and go as you please, their is ample parking and a lovely resteraunt at the hotel 5 minute walk down the road.We can't wait to come again!

Absolutely amazing B&B. Angie is a fantastic host and is so welcoming. They have a lovely bar and breakfast on offer. The grounds are wonderful and very close to a nearby pub which serves a great fish and chips (and more). Fully recommend!

Truly an amazing place! Angie and Gordon are not only fantastic hosts, but they go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a memorable stay. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with warm smiles and made us feel right at home. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made a lasting impression.All in all, our stay at this bed and breakfast was a memorable one. We were captivated by the warm hospitality, delectable breakfast, and peaceful ambiance. The room is shared bathroom upstairs and shower downstairs, no TV and very short time WiFi available each evening. Yellow water in cattle looks not be welcomed to use. The only thing is the host can make proper breakfast. Bath not as it should be hot as limited hot water supply. As a travel project manager I am not suggesting this place to someone travelling far away from none English speaking country due to it may trouble her to understand you. The feeling of the host is a bit weird not like her website just keep 20 people's supper good comments

Our first time staying in a B&B with the owners, and how fab it was. Angela's amazing hospitality, willingness to accommodate breakfast requests, could go on. She recommended perfect itineraries for our days on Skye, places to eat, kids loved the bar billiards, space in their room. All immaculately clean. Not to forget our chat with the lovely Gordon.So glad I called to check availability when all hotels on Skye showed none. Highly recommended and thank you so much!j

Angela is a perfekt host! We found Rowanbanks accidentally while searching for a BnB for one night on our trip to Skye. We got a very nice room and a great scottish breakfast and some good tipps where to go. When we'll visit Skye again, we sure will come back to Rowanbanks!

When booking a last minute trip in August to Skye, we couldn't find any options for lodging in Portree, which had been our preference.. But Rowanbank had room and that turned out to be our good fortune! It is a nice small B&B on the southern (that is, uncrowded) part of the island nestled close to a beautiful cove, within a 5 minute walk of a wonderful pub, and only a 15 minute drive to the ferry to Mallaig. After we visited Portree we were so glad we stayed at Rowanbank instead! The rooms, while not overly large, are comfortable and clean. Angela makes a truly hearty breakfast, and she and Gordon provide a warm welcome. And they go the extra mile for their guests. When we inadvertently left some items behind on Skye, Angela managed to arrange to get them returned to us. And when we left for the early morning ferry, Angela nonetheless made sure we had breakfast before our departure. We really appreciated the hospitality and thoughtfulness that we experienced while staying at Rowanbank. It made our time on Skye even more special..
