Was so looking forward to staying at this B&B after the super reviews and photos. Not sure how, but there was something lost in the process of confirming our booking by email. Anda had replied to my enquiry; I had confirmed the two night booking we wanted and that (at time of writing) was available; but I never got a confirmation to that; and looking back, I should have sought one out; because, sadly, we weren't in Anna's diary when we arrived. I think this was a scary and off-putting situation for all involved. Anda had one room (not the twin requested, but we made do with the double that has the incredible sea view) for that first one night; and we were very lucky that Raasay House had one of their economy rooms (still not economy priced) available for the second night. So not the start to Raasay anybody would wish for. But it's clearly a well run B&B – even though not booked, the room was made up and ready, was beautiful (as was the whole house), and Anna's breakfast was truly excellent. It felt like Anda tried to stack the breakfast times to have the dining room and table kept separate for us and another two staying there; but I like to take breakfast slow and the four of us quite happily chatted while all having breakfast. With my experience, wouldn't return here, sadly, but clearly Anda and the family hit the mark 99% of the time, and I'm just glad everything worked out ok for us here. Location is good whether you're driving onto the island, or walking from the ferry – about ten-15 minutes back to the fork where there's the distillery and Raasay House, or allow another five minutes to make it to the ferry slipway from there. Amazing wee island, such a gem.

Only stayed at the Allt Arais BnB for one night, but we wished we could’ve stayed longer. Anda was a wonderful host and she has an absolutely lovely home. Everything was so clean and smelled so good, and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying here when visiting the Isle of Rassay.

Our favourite place we stayed in Scotland! Hospitality at it’s best! Not only is Raasay an incredible island to see, but this BnB truly added to our experience! The room was very clean, the beds were so comfortable, and the breakfast was yummy. We felt welcomed into their home and will absolutely be going back!
