Can't say enough good things about Grasmere Hotel. Everyone that works there is so friendly, the room was perfect - clean and quiet - and the rest of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Wish I'd had time to stay longer but hope to return again. Food at the restaurant was delicious as well!

This is our 4th visit to The Grasmere Hotel....absolutely superb location, plenty of parking space on the driveway. For me, the breakfasts and evening meals are out of this world! The rooms are beautifully decorated to a high standard, and the beds are super comfy, aiding in a good night's sleep. The grounds are lovely and are surrounded by a lovely canopy of trees and flowers. You can enjoy a nice drink in the garden area, having a wander down to the bottom and watch the river flow by. We'll definitely be back.This time, we stayed in The Wordsworth room, which is situated on the ground floor. The view from our bedroom window was of the gardens, and we had our own french doors, which led onto our own little patio - love!

Booked a table on the website, which was confirmed by email. When we showed up we were told the establishment doesn't accept children, and there was thus no table for us. This not being indicated on the website (nor the booking confirmation), I made a bit of a fuss which prompted the owner to come. He did apologise, but also explained this had only happened to them once in the past (!), and they had been somewhat inconvenienced by the request for a kids menu ... We were offered to be served in a separate room, on an exceptional basis, which we respectfully declined.

Great location with parking. Lovely warm welcome from the owner and staff. The room was beautifully clean with a view of a very pretty garden leading to the river. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The evening mealwas served in beautiful surroundings we had a cheeky cocktail before dinner in the cozy lounge. A nice choice of wines to accompany a delicious meal. We were particularly impressed how accommodating they were for hubby's gluten free requirements.We look forward to returning

Absolutely in the heart of Grasmere village, this place has views of hills and fields both front and back. The atmosphere is relaxed, cosy and friendly, and the rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. It's an historic Lake District building, so don't expect huge bedrooms. The staff are lovely and the food is superb, with genuinely decent vegetarian options. We'll definitely be back.

My wife booked a 2 night weekend break in November for my birthday after looking at the hotel and reviews which looked excellent. Unfortunately, we had to postpone our stay through unexpected circumstances 3 weeks before our visit. My wife was told any rebooking would have to be in December to avoid forfitting the £100 deposit taken at the time of booking. Unfortunately all the dates available in December the restaurant was closed which did not fit our plans as we had originally booked dinner bed and breakfast. My wife moved the booking to March 2023 but was told we had lost our original deposit and would have to pay another £100. Unhappy with this my wife cancelled the booking only to be told we had to pay further £150 cancellation fee. So we have paid £250 for a deposit and cancellation fee. Please be mindful of this when making a booking.

One of our happy places in UK. Have stayed this place twice and will highly recommend it. A very homely and relaxing place. We never miss having dinner at this lovely place, top notch.
