Location excellent, but everything else is terrible. We stayed here back in 2021 and it was fine, but the lodge we stayed in this time has aged badly. Before you arrive, you get an email telling you how the lodge is essentially a step up from being in a tent, which is true, but a tent wouldn’t cost £120 a night (2 night minimum booking), and a tent is also unlikely to absolutely stink of mould. The smell was unbearable, the floor had sagged and there was evidence that it had either been flooded or got wet in the past. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mould and it also stank of urine. The floor was dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. We left after the first night as it was massively below expectations.I’d seriously consider buying a cheap tent, find a decent pitch on a decent site and save yourself some money (and potential health complications associated with black mould…).

Only received an email 1.5hrs before check-in time, stating that there will be no towel and blankets provided and you can rent a sleeping bag at £10 and towel for £5. Then there are damages everywhere. Curtain rail is broken and the shower screen fell off. Matress felt like it has been used for 20 yrs with its springs noisy and sunken in. Pillow is as thin as my palm. No toiletries and toilet flush is broken. No wifi available. Uses metal hose on a instant heater which can be dangerous. TV is not working and remote was missing. We suffered 3 nights in the worst accommodation ever. I wonder where the good reviews came from.

It's rare that I give an average review. It's subjective so I'll give you my positive and negative points:The +: perfect location for getting around the island. Free parking. Beautiful reception room. Microwave in reception. Games for children. The -: ultra spartan. The duvets are optional 10 pounds each regardless of the number of nights (at 4: 40 pounds). No kitchen, just a kettle (no cups, no chair (I don't count the table outside which is always soaked). The reception is open between 6 and 10 p.m. but not every day. So some evenings it's a hassle to eat (noodles with the kettle). I had to put stones in front of the pod myself because we had our feet in the water. We had a micro fan to provide heat and it was very useful (in August) but it was. That's it.In short, it's cheaper than the very expensive hotels on Skye, to the point of justifying the big loss in quality... less certain...

Had a lovely long weekend here, the self check in was easy with lots of parking available outside each pod. The pod itself is basic but is perfectly comfortable with everything you need for a few nights, kettle, toaster, electric stove, pots, plates, cutlery, TV, etc. - even a small heater which worked a blast in November! However the pods do not come with wifi so make sure you have a good phone signal. The bathroom was clean and with a powerful warm shower too. The Location is great, about 5 minutes to Portree and the site is just off the main road so it’s easy to find with maps. These aren’t luxury accommodation but warm, clean and safe so i would recommend for people who just want a place to wash and sleep.

Concerning the positive points, the tour is quickly done:The light garland in the pod is very pretty :)The setting is nice with a view of the mountains.Regarding the rest, there is much more to say:I stayed at this campsite with my children at the end of October. No welcome on arrival, it was 5 p.m., it was dark and the reception was closed (Apparently it is always closed in low season). I had to contact the manager via booking messaging, he told me that he had left the keys on the door.We arrived in the Pod where it was freezing cold (we would have appreciated if he had turned on the mini-radiator a little before our arrival).Bad surprise, there is no duvet on the beds. I contact the manager who tells me that I have to pay an extra £10 per sleeping bag and £6 per bath towel, making a total of €57 more for the stay to be paid in cash only. The comfort is very rudimentary, and the space is really cramped, making it impossible to fit suitcases or store the contents because there is no cupboard. In terms of household appliances, there is a kettle and that's it.The biggest nuisance was the cold inside the pod, difficult to get out of the sleeping bag in the morning (I can't imagine when the temperatures are negative!!!) The micro-heater is not able to heat all the way into the bathroom, we had to skip the shower for 2 days.Due to the cold inside the pod, we left before the end of the stay. We chose the Portree YOUTH HOTEL right in the center, it is cheaper, more comfortable, the view of Portree Bay from the common room is splendid and the staff is very warm (which made us feel good after the welcome deplorable camping pods), I highly recommend this establishment!Avoid going to the end of the campsite, the manager has transformed it into an OPEN WASTE CENTER!!! This is where he throws away all the old mattresses and used furniture, I found that a real shame because it spoils the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

When we arrived, no one to welcome us. It was only by calling two numbers by Whatsapp that we were answered.|We finally got the keys and discovered that it was very small, even more so than described. …
