Very pleasant stay and a change of scenery. I loved Scotland and particularly the Isle of Skye.On the other hand, the accommodation lacks storage (no hook for hanging clothes and coats and no shelves) otherwise everything is great. I recommend

I won't get into my negative interaction with the property because it's clearly not productive to do so (quite the fixed mindset to say the least!) , but suffice it to say, if you are looking for access to the lower Trotternish ridge for hiking, you CANNOT access it here. Do not call the number. Do not enter to try and ask. Right to roam is not honored on this property - though I'm sure the owner considers this business an exception to that rule. I'm not here to argue Scottish law or to incur further wrath from the property owner -- just letting people know they cannot access that trail here at this time. The property owner will not direct you to what you're looking for or offer any help. To access the Trotternish, you'll have to walk up to Storr via the main A road and walk up at a carpark on the left unless other locals know a different access point. Good luck to the people who stay here -- but this interaction turned me off ever staying here or at any other wigwam chain. I pity the owner, who must have had such misfortune happen in his life to treat anyone the way we were treated. Hope this helps fellow travelers. And to the owner -- sorry we ruined your day by trying to ask a question. You didn't give us the chance to explain ourselves, but I do apologize that your day started off so bad because of us. Excellent base on the Isle of Skye! Short drive or even hike through some trails to the downtown area of Portree. Short drive to Storr hiking. Beautiful scenery. Exceptionally clean cabins that were stocked with everything you might need after stocking up on food from Coop. Definitely would recommend to others!

Amazing location and we were left to get on with it. Communication with the owners was friendly and helpful. The pods are superb with hot running water, toilet, electrics, shower etc. They just need some imagination to make clever use of the space as there is hardly anywhere to put anything. This could definitely be resolved with a fresh set of eyes and some practical application. I found that the range of kitchen utensils were not quite adequate, basic things like a colander, small pairing knife, scissors etc were missing. All in all I would highly recommend this site!

The owner is very hostile. Long story short, we stopped our campervan in the parking spot just across from this property. My father, who is not a native English speaker, went to throw out our trashbag in what turned out to be the bins of this property, at the bottom of the hill, just beyond some gates which were partially opened. Less than five minutes passed and a pick-up truck skirted to a stop beside us. The owner got out steaming, growling and shaking as he spoke. He screamed, swearing at us and calling us “freeloaders”, telling us to return to our country as this was his land, along with some other harsh xenophobic obscenities, coming right up to our face and acting very menacing. It was very alarming, and I was worried for my family’s safety. He ordered us to remove the trash and as we went to do so, he jumped back into his truck, driving to the gate in full speed. We were all concerned he was going to drive into my father and I. My dad immediately removed the trash and apologized, and again this man remained hostile. He then sped off, leaving us speechless. Needless to say our evening was completely ruined, as we were all left shocked and, quite frankly, scared. I feel bad for my family, for whom it was their first time in Scotland. They got a completely skewed perspective of otherwise great Scottish hospitality.

We stayed three nights at the Wigwam pods in Portree and really enjoyed our accommodation. The pod is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with en-suite bathroom (towel rail was a big plus!), a fridge with a freezer compartment, hob, kettle, toaster plus ample crockery & cutlery, including a bottle opener. Having hot water was great. You can preorder a fire bowl with kindlings and logs for £10. The location is incredible with beautiful views of the Black Cuillin. There are 10 pods but spaced out very well with individual access paths so you can enjoy privacy. The Wigwams are just outside Portree with plenty local amenities including a great visitor centre with very helpful staff and free WiFi, many cafes and restaurants, a fantastic shop ‘Just Hooked’ with fresh oysters, langoustines and lots of other freshly caught local seafood, very reasonably priced. We took a wildlife spotting tour with MV Stardust tours and saw two whales, a sea eagle and lots of seals. We visited in August and the temperature was comfortable during the night, a light sleeping bag was enough to keep us warm. Smoke alarm is very efficient and may will go off during cooking (7am in our case when we were making a fry up - sorry!). Margaret and Neil were very friendly and helpful, fabulous hosts. A very comfortable and enjoyable break with lots of new memories made! Highly recommended and we would definitely stay again.

Stayed a night in the lovely pods and was welcomed by the lovely Margaret. We had a great time in the pods, the interior is amazing! There is no wifi provided but that's fine. The cabin is 30 minutes on walking distance from Portree and easy to spot beside the main road. We also want to thank Neil who kindly sent us to Portree from the cabins during the last day. Overall, we are satisfied with the stay.

Very rude and unprofessional owner.On our first morning we let our dog out of the pod off the lead which we appreciate was our mistake as it turned out dogs needed to be kept on a lead at all times. Straight away the owner Neil stormed around the corner and immediately began shouting at us aggressively for the dog being off the lead. Without even giving us a chance to apologise or politely reminding us to keep to their rules, he threatened to kick us off the site. He then brought up that they had had a complaint from a pod further up the hill regarding dog mess by their fire pit and a chewed lead and immediately accused us of being the ones who did this, even though this incident had happened the evening before and that morning was the only time we'd mistakenly let our dog out. When we explained that this was not us, after already apologising for this morning's incident, he continously shouted and kept accusing it of being us. When we asked directly whether they saw it was our dog, both Neil and the other owner - his wife Margaret, both said no they didn't. We then asked why they were accusing us when they didn't see what had happened, bearing in mind there were multiple other dogs on the site, Neil continued to shout at us aggressively and in an accusational way.It was only after we ourselves asked them if everything was fine after much back and forth, Neil reluctantly and sarcastically replied with "certainly" with his arms crossed and a very judgemental look.Despite logging a complaint about the way we were spoken to by Neil to Margaret and promised he'd apologise for his aggressive outburst. This did not happen.Wigwam themselves apologised for and seemed very concerned by the experience we had been subjected to.

Stayed here for three nights. Compact but had all the facilities you will need, especially as most visitors will be spending their days exploring Skye.25 min walk to portree bars, shops etc. You'll need a torch the a return after darkQuick and good communication with the owners.

One of the owners Neil was extremely rude, has no customer service qualities whatsoever. Very accusational rather than speaking to us in a calm manner over something that could have been resolved in a much more professional way. Would not recommend if you're after meeting welcoming owners - very unprofessional. Shame as the pod was lovely and spacious but this just ruined our time in Skye.

Fantastic wigwams in a spectacular and peaceful location. These wigwams are very well equipped, cozy and spotlessly clean. We’ve just spent 4 days here and had a great time travelling around Skye again and enjoying our nights by the fire pit. The site itself is lovely and well laid out and each wigwams has the most amazing views. We booked at the last minute and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’ll definitely be back😁!

we had the pleasure of spending the weekend past at these fantastic wigwams.Situated within a short drive to portree Town though surrounded by beautiful countryside with outstanding viewsThese are without a doubt the best wigwams we have stayed in,having a shower and toilet made a world of difference.also a functional kitchen area too.Perfectly Situated if you like looking at the night sky also,with amazing views of the milky wayDo yourself a favour and go outside and stand,you'll be blown away!!If we have the pleasure of visiting skye again we will 100% be booking hereBrilliant holiday was had😊
